The OP's selected actors are too pricey for these roles, specially in an HBO direct to cable feature and specially that entire cast. With that said, not being confined to HBO/cable TV some actors I think could get the look/persona of the characters down are:

Alistair = Jamie Bamber

Morrigan = Anne Hathaway (Pic)
*That pic link even has Hathaway in a dress with a Morrigan-esque cut to the top. She could do this. Trust that. She can play wicked. Don't let her soft roles dissuade you.

Leliana = Isla Fisher (Pic)

Wynne = Helen Mirren

Flemeth = Kate Mulgrew ... duh. :)

My idea for a film would be to remove the Warden, ala The Darkspawn Chronicles. Except in the film the good guys can win. Alistair is the lead character.

Yeah maybe hugh jackman as hawke as long as he isnt hawke with an Australian accent, actually eva green probably would be a good morrigan, she is probably the best character in camelot, plays her part really well.

why not just have morrigan's voice actress play morrigan? she's an accomplished, if not well known, actress. she just fits the role so well.

Some of these are good (I like Rachel McAdams for Bethany) but a ton of them are just way too old now. Lucy Lawless, Cate Blanchett, and Nicolas Cage are all much too old for the roles. Anders isn't pushing fifty, lol.

Also, Isabela isn't white. Try Rosario Dawson or maybe Freema Agyeman.

No, no, it's not Nicholas Cage's age that's the problem, it's the fact that he's Nicholas Cage.

Sad but true.

Dragon Age: Game of Hawkes, coming in July

Flemeth: Kate Mulgrew
Hawke:  Daniel Craig, Natalie Portman
Merrill: Eva Green
Fenris: Jude Law
Isabela: Lucy Lawless
Varric: Denis Leary
Bartrand: John Rhys-Davies
Anders: Nicolas Cage
Aveline: Cate Blanchett
Bethany: Rachel McAdams
Carver: Bradley Cooper
Leandra: Meryl Streep
Gamlen: Tommy Lee Jones
Arishok: Mickey Rourke
Bodahn: Conchata Ferrell (voice: Michael Caine)
Sandal: Elijah Wood
Cullen: Kevin McKidd
Charade: Zooey Deschanel
Madame Lusine: Helen Mirren
Petrice: Naomi Watts
Elthina: Finnoula Flanagan
Marithari: Elizabeth Mitchell
Meredith: Kate Winslet
Orsino: Will Arnett
Cassandra: Keira Knightley

I don't understand - what does this have to do with HBO?

This is not a real project, right?

BTW, I don't think you will see Keira Knightly and Natalie Portman cast together in too many films since they are too similar in appearance. (Keira Knightley's first major role was as Natalie Portman's doppelganger in Phantom Menace.)

No i didnt mean eva greens voice she is great, i meant hugh jackman he has a strong Australian accent, and if youve seen the new clash of the titans the Australian actor in that who is supposed to be a greek hero, comes across terribly with his accent, unlike eric bana in black hawk down who plays an excellent part as US special forces.

Nathan fillion would be good, dont know who he'd play but does good characters.

Lucy Lawless as Isabela? Have you seen her lately? She's been added to the cast of No Ordinary Family the last few episodes and probably will remain since they killed off Stephen Collins character as the main villain and she was his boss.

Lucy from Xena days... sure. Present day Lucy? NAH.

I have a feeling this will be the most expensive movie ever made with that ensemble cast

Anne Hathaway is an interesting Morrigan choice - I can see that happening.

I can see Vin Diesel as the Warden, and Jean Reno as Riordan, but I'm not casting that movie at the moment. We'll start casting for that movie when HBO cancels Dragon Age: Game of Hawkes after its first season.

Claudia Black (Morrigan's VO) is an accomplished actress, but doesn't quite have the face for Morrigan. Blame BioWare for that one.

If anyone is really dying for more Morrigan or Alistair, go play Uncharted 2. They're both in it.

Glenn Close needs to be Meredith. And Nic Cage as Anders??? I know people hate him, but that's just cruel.

Good call with Glenn Close as Meredith, that totally works too.

That's quite a funny coincidence but in the German version of DA2, Meredith is voiced by the same voice actress who also is the German dubbing voice of Glen Close.

Lucy Lawless as Isabelle: Im sure she would play her very well, but don't you think her skin color isn't dark enough?

Skin color notwithstanding... At 43, I think Lucy might be a little too old to play Isa. She'd be a better Merideth I'd think, especially in temperment.

Actually her latest roles are more Meredith like. All the people saying her for Isa or Aveline must still think she's playing Xena on TV right now.

Actually I've been watching her on Spartaccus - and personally I think she could pull off either just fine.

I had thought about Chris Evans as Carver.  I hadn't thought about Betty White but getting her to say "you want the bad-boy option" would be pretty funny, definitely.

But I think you totally nailed it with Gamlen - Christopher Walken it is!
