Hello I recently bought mass effect I for the PC, through the EA download manager.
When I start the game it takes ages, and it is so laggy I cannot even manouver in the main menu, I have no idea why this is, as I own both DragonAge II and Mass Effect II and they run fine.

Suggestion?

Thanks in advance PlaTy`

Do you have a lot of programs running when you play ME1?

No, the download manager, some google chrome tabs (this site) and some basic pc stuff nothign else. :(

Also i've tried a clean uninstall reinstall, but to no avail.

Can you post your system specs, please? Graphics card, processor, RAM, and operating system are the most important. You can find out the first three by running a program called dxdiag.exe.

Geforce 8800 GT, Intell® Pentium® D CPU 3.40 GHz (2CPUs) 3328 MB RAM, Operating system I believe means windows yeh? so Windows XP. Eventhough my PC might not be the best, It is not strange I am assuming both Mass Effect II and Dragon Age II have higher requirements, now is it?

Hm, that system should run Mass Effect 1 quite well. Is the game patched to the latest version? Run the configuration utility to check.

upgraded from what version to the latest? Were they recent drivers?

With an older card like yours new drivers can do more harm than good so an older set might be beneficial.
