Patch 1.02 included over 100 fixes but we're already hard at work on the next one. If you're still experiencing any major issues after installing Patch 1.02, please provide further information in this thread. That will help us plan and prioritize for the future.

Be aware that knowledge of an issue doesn't inherently mean that it will be fixed in the next patch. We still need to prioritize the issues list, reproduce the issue internally, and finally identify and implement a suitable fix. Not all bugs survive this process but we'll do what we can. The sooner we're tracking the issue, however, the sooner we can begin that process.

This post will serve as a summary of all posts in this thread which I will (hopefully) be able to keep up to date indefinitely.

Last time, there were lots of 'does Bioware know X? it isn't on the major issues list!' threads and posts so I'm going to try to list every single issue that gets raised here in an effort to alleviate this feeling and show that, as I kept saying, we are aware of everything that gets brought up on BSN.

--------------

Current issues, post 1.02:

General Issues

- Import Issues (Awakenings; re: Approval levels)
- Import issue with Zevran, Alistair and Morrigan (all)
- Olaf's Armory - Chest is invisible. Can still be interacted with, you just can't see it. (Act 3)
Companion Issues

- Carver goes from Grey Warden to Templar in act 3 during Best Served Cold hostage scene
- Isabela doesn't switch to her alternate outfit after the romance scene (requires using makers sigh to fix currently)
- Companions lose upgrades when they switch outfits
- Fenris' Dog conversation (Black Emporium) is not firing
- Merrill's 'Mourning' quest at the beginning of Act 2 is auto-completing. This quest is not supposed to be in the game so for now just disregard the message about it. (it does not affect your game at all)
- Varric's 'Friendly Concern' conversation trees are not firing for any LI except Anders currently
- Sebastian Vael - Despite having friendship maxed, his companion power does not show as active on his Abilities page (the bonus is working, however)
- Anders' rivalry dialog doesn't trigger (friendship instead) during endgame after the 'chantry part'
- Anders' Tevinter chantry amulet turn-in does not give the appropriate reputation modifier when in a rivalry
Quest Issues

- 'Who Needs Rescuing' quest still broken
- 'Sketchy on the Details' doesn't clear from the journal upon completion
- During 'Demands of the Qun' Aveline's guards are aggressive if you go to the docks at night
Combat Issues

- Varric's Disorienting Shot doesn't disorient (for more than a split-second)
- Modal abilities that should be exclusive are stacking if you toggle two of them on quickly
- Hawke can become immune to Injury occassionally
- Magic Resist is affecting Haste (causing the duration to be shorter, essentially resisting your own buff)
- Issues with Gravitic Ring under certain circumstances
PC Only Issues

- GUI Elements are not aligned properly after installing 1.02  Fixed. Users need to delete 'Troll-faced' mod from their addons folder to alleviate this issue.
- Directx11!!!!
- Flickering White Flashes in rare cases
- PhysX issues causing the game not to run
- Mouse Cursor causing stutterring animations and gameplay (the hold RMB for +frame-rate issue)
- Various issues surrounding 'guest'/administrator accounts in Windows
- Holding RMB over GUI elements causes the cursor to get locked on those items, the only way to fix it is to mouse over those items again (this can cause the game to completely lock-out input if done over the companion portraits)
- Mouseover text for set bonuses on Hawke's Abilities page extends upward off the screen
- Conversations and Ambient dialogs are missing the very first line for some users

Current issues that require new playthroughs (or older saves) in 1.02

- Slo-mo hawke (as well as other stat modifiers) are not retroactively fixed. The problem will not reoccur or get worse but whatever value you currently have will be stuck with you for now (there are many helpful threads about editting the save to manually fix the issue in the mean time)
- Aveline's 4th upgrade (Favor and Fault) will not appear if you've already entered the area once in Act 3 before applying the patch

You may have to be slightly more specific than that :)

The "Mourning" Merrill quest is still broken for me, based on loading a save game from the end of Act 1 and then progressing into Act 2. Is the flag for that set earlier? Do I have to go all the way before the Deep Roads?

I can look in to when this is set for you but I assume it's earlier. To my knowledge, this was fixed.

The problem with slow animation still exist on my old saves. Am I supposed to start a new game? Is there anyway I could fix old files without using any save editor ?

Not currently no. Either use a save editor or load back to a point where the problem does not exist (or is playable). It will not occur again or get any worse.

Was your save in the wounded coast?

Edit: just realized you said for all of act 3. If you load prior to the end of act 2 and then proceed to act 3 is this still the case? Regardless I'll tag this as an issue - has anyone else had this occur?

The GUI elements thing was caused by a mod.

What was the name of the mod so I can write it in the main post?

This isn't a major issue, but it isn't currently possible to confirm a partial allocation of Attribute points when a character levels up (the "Confirm" button doesn't appear until after all available points have been used). Is there any chance that the button could be made available as soon as one or more points have been assigned?

Apart from that, I've been waiting for the save import issues to be fixed before I continue playing, but I see those are still on the to-do list.

I've actually got this on a short-list of new features that should be added/changed. Can't say that anything will come of it anytime soon but I can at least tell you I too wish this was in the game as I often don't want to spend all of my attribute points at once.

Sigh.

I just replayed the deep roads, from a save file PRIOR to speaking with Bartrand and choosing my party. Did the whole thing, started Act 2, and Mourning STILL auto-completes right after the conversation with the viscount.

Is this some kind of joke?

After talking to the design team it was established that this quest was supposed to be cut from the game and somehow remnants of it stuck around in some fashion. Rest assure it has no affect on anything going forward (and even when it was in the game it was a very brief conversation with not plot modifying flags). Sorry for the confusion.

Tested every combination I could think of to get the correct Morrigan values to show with zz_vault_debug and just cant get it to register the relationship properly.

*Witchhunt save (with and without mw_import_fix) results in: Unrecognized/incorrect history/romance and incorrect flags

*Awakenings save (with and without mw_import_fix) results in: Unrecognized/incorrect history/romance and incorrect flags

*savegen-1.0a created save (with and without mw_import_fix) results in: Correct History, unrecognized romance (Morrigan), correct flags

*Origins epilogue save completed 03/11 with latest patch and no mods (with and without mw_import_fix) results in: Unrecognized/incorrect history/romance and incorrect flags

The Origins saves are not importing correctly.
Even correct flag values are not being interpreted correctly. (at least in the case of Morrigan romance)

---------------

As frustrating as this is for me I can only imagine how the developers/designers feel right now.

Just to try to crunch down that info:
Awakening (and therefore Witch Hunt, assuming you imported in to it from awakening saves) are known to have issues. Also, as a side note, nothing from Witch Hunt (plotflags) are called in DA2.

Your savegen1.0a save seems to be the best, except that the Morrigan romance isn't working. The one that really troubles me is that NONE of your flafgs are accurate from a vanilla origins import. Is this correct?

It's pretty safe to assume, at this point, that Zevran import issues are completely fubar'd. Unfortunately we'll likely need to address the Awakening import issues (approval) first before we can start to dig in to outlying cases.

I was hoping this would be fixed maybe its an issue or intended im not sure. But the templar talent Annulment seems to affect beneficial magic as well. 20 second haste lasting for 4-5 seconds with 73 magic resist. I hope this isnt intentional.. I imagine if it affects haste maybe it  affects other spells like Barrier etc.

We're aware of this one but it wasn't fixed in this patch no. It should* be in the next one

ejoslin wrote...

But it's not only his import issues -- my
real concern is that when the import issues are fixed that his dialog
will remain bugged since there looks to be real issues with that as
well.  But thank you so much for looking at this.  I'll stop talking
about it for now so other issues are not being shouted down by me!

Yes, but we have to eliminate the import issues first before we can investigate this otherwise we may come across false positives/negatives due to import issues. I've got it filed as a separate issue contingent on the awakenings import issue.

If by targeting issue you mean: http://social.biowar...0/index/6424008 then I can say it's still sitting on a designer, the priority is high enough that it should be included in the next patch but currently it is not 'fixed' in the sense that we use the word internally.

Cooler heads often prevail. It also helps stave off forum insanity. Spending the majority of my day reading/responding on BSN and going to meetings regarding everything I read on BSN is difficult to temper, even with the most comical memes :o

Hey guys, just going through all the posts I haven't read yet so if your issue isn't on the main board give me about an hour to correct that :)

As to some of the DX11 comments; you can, as far as I know, play in dx9 and manually edit your dragonage.ini settings to add specific dx11 features. I assume* one (or more) of the dx11 issues is what is causing the problems so you may want to turn them on (or off) one at a time to try to isolate what doesn't work for you.

Do you have any mods that change GUI elements? We've seen some issues with mods that are breaking/distorting this.

Avelines final armour upgrade
This is NOT fixed for me. I just killed Jeven and looted him but it was not on his body. That is after installing 1.02 yesterday at which point I did not even have her Favour and Fault quest.

So ... a whole replay required to get her final upgrade? Image IPB

Has anyone else had this problem? To my knowledge this was fixed and verified.

Was just informed, and adding it to the summary, that for Favor and Fault, the upgrade will not generate if you've ever been to that area in act 3. SO, you'll likely need to play from the end of act 2 with 1.02 to get Aveline's 4th upgrade.

Did you try uninstalling one of your two versions? I'm not sure how much support you'll get for having two simultaneous installs.

No, I have both and i'd like to keep it this way, since linux can't pass ea drm test. The same message about administrator privilegies some windows users get.
I can try to delete steam version, since with activation crack I can play on linux as well(will have to wait 1.02 crack though).
Uhm, have to mention it - to play da2 I use windows 7, but most of my time I use linux, so it is good to be able to play it from under there. Game is installed in windows partition.

Noted. I'll raise the issue but I'm not sure how much traction it will get.
