No, I was playing through the last act of the game, so no point in starting over already. I'll give it another try in my next playthrough, though.

As for me I've yet to install the patch due to the fact that I've only found a coupld of small issues with all my play throughs fo the game. 1 is the Sketchy quest going over to the completed area and 2 the fact that the Sebastion Friend/rivalry achievement just isn't updating and I had him at max friendship every play throgh. Make that 3 issues the other one is the fact that the regeration part of items don't work whether it be for health or mana/stamina.

Other than what I mentioned my game plays through fine.


How is 1.02 more broken? Most of the issues described here, existed before 1.02. It doesn't fix all of the issues that existed, but it fixes some. Although I didn't read all of the thread, as far as I noticed 1.02 doesn't add any bugs, just fixes some. Also you might want to install it, since it fixes the Isabela/Sebastian bug. You might have not noticed it since you're not using those 2 characters in the party as much as the others. If you do use them, you probably have a slower attack speed and a penalty  for damage resistance. So yeah, it's better to install it.

Kept Isabela with me most of the earlier stages of the game, until I realized I had to have Merrill along for extra firepower, but never noticed any slow-down problem with Isabela at all (thank goodness).

Has there been any mention of the scrollable/un-scrollable map problem anywhere? Sometimes, on larger maps, it would be nice to be able to scroll it around...but sometimes, it can be scrolled when clicking in certain areas, then all of a sudden, you can't move it at all. It seems to be somewhat random. I didn't even know you *could* scroll the map around until recently, and it only seems to work part of the time.

Nothing game breaking but after installing the patch I'm noticing that I no longer get the Bounty Hunter quest from the Chanters board in Act 2, and I no longer get the letter for the Who Needs Rescuing quest in Act 3 (sorry if this hasn't been fixed, or has been removed). I also noticed that Varric said at the end that everyone left he champion except for Anders, even though my Hawke had broken things off with him at the talk to the companions scene before the final fight.

The tactics screen is still broken in that 'Use item' lines are corrupted when moved and lines are rearranged when lists are scrolled (this being particularly problematic for 'Jump to tactic' and 'Use current condition for next tactic). This might perhaps not be a priority but it is very frustrating for those of us who make heavy use of custom tactics.

I am getting tired of my Visit-Companions quest dropping their first line of dialog. I will go, visit them in their home, then be prompted with a naked dialog tree, from missing their first speech. This seems to happen with all the companions, whether or not they are in your party when the dialog begins.
Otherwise, I enjoy the game though.

maybe you could fix the activation issue that is affecting so many pc users. it would be nice to actually be able to play a game we paid money for.

Here are 2 items I don't see on your list.

Gamma once again.

Thank you for the higher values but they don't "stick". I have to always go into the video options and then exit them (with OK or Back). Note that I don't have to move or touch the gamma slider but just enter the video option screen for it to take effect. Could it be something to do with this in the ini:

UseDesktopGamma=1
Gamma=1.1027

My desktop gamma is set a little lower than the default for my monitor (perhaps .85) in my ATI catalyst settings. I'm not even sure why you set a flag for "UseDestopGamma".

Second, and even more annoying, is when opening a chest. My Hawke is set to walk at the faster speed level so when I go to loot a chest I get her/his audio (like "done" or whatever comment or affirmation fires off) is often clipped. When you do that a thousand times in the game it becomes very annoying.

The subquest "Who needs rescuing?" is not broken for me.. is disappear!!
After installing the 1.02 patch, i've resumed a game in the middle of the prologue. Now i'm in the third act, and the quest don't exists. (Italian version of the game)

I had a total crash of my machine while trying to recruit Isabela in the hanged man. No error, and couldn't get one from WhoCrashed. 4GB HDD, AMD Dual core processor, nVidia GTX 260 video card with the most current drivers and Win 7 32 bit Professional. Also getting the loss of sound issue. Either no sound during cut scenes or everyone sounds like they are in a fishbowl.

Finished "Finders Keepers" and now I am unable to access his shop. Doesn't even give me the option. Was working fine before 1.02 for me and I started over after finnishing all DAO DCL's.

Noticed that I was able to do "Secret Rondesvous" even though I didn't save Amaranthene in DAOA.

In Vicount's keep having same issue with "band of three".
The guard that says "stop kicking the walls" and the Man who replies keep having conversation even though they are no where near each other.

Now and before 1.01 it took a few ingame day -> night switches and probably   due to
script interferences completing some quests.
Do some quests outside Lowtown / Kirkwall and  the contraband shop should be open.

Noticed that I was able to do "Secret Rondesvous" even though I didn't save Amaranthene in DAOA.


Secret Rendezvous depends on completing Anders' as well as Isabela's quest.
the Awakening xp isn't required.

Well, no one forced bioware to join EA, they are responsible either way.

Indeed. While I don't use 'jump to' tactics, the item (to be used) selection going missing is annoying enough - eg. health or mana/stamina potions.

By the way, I believe someone posted a work-around for this a couple of pages back.

minor but still... the game forgets the dog's name after loading saved game. The name go back after some time. Untill that you dog is named a Dog.

I've been assured that this will be fixed before any DLC rolls out, whether it be in the next patch or part of the DLC itself.

As for the tactics issues, we'll be addressing all of these at some point but it will not be the next patch. Sorry.
And the gamma thing is fixed in 1.03 - for now you'll just have to wiggle the slider every time you start the game :(

Some processors are not being identified properly by the Configuration Tool. I was running an AMD tri-core processor and the tool identified it as a single-core processor in the systeminformation.xml which the tool creates. I could play one session on an install but if I windowed out or quit the game I would crash (computer would shut down) and on restarting the game just as the save loaded I would crash again. I have since upgraded my CPU to a quad-core and it now works fine.

I have started a thread to deal with others have simulair issues with the Configuration Tool not properly identifying components here:  social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/300/index/7124333

If you are having issues with game crashing still please open the systeminformation.xml in notepad and check the values the tool created. Manual editing of the file did not resolve my issues but upgrading to a quad-core processor did. The file is in your documents/bioware/dragonage2 folder.

What about the auto-attack bug? My Hawke and others in the party dont auto attack an enemy even though they are right in front of them. Yes, this is on the PC.

Frequency of Occurrance: Causes repeating audio loop 100% of the time, inability to target roughly 30% of the time

Consistency in Reproducing: Always

Steps: 
1. Use Gravitic Ring at a point where enemies must pass through to reach party
2. When Assassin/Rogue NPC attempts to stealth while in the Gravitic Ring, repeating audio loop of stealth bottle breaking sound is heard 
3. Target enemy in the center of Gravitic Ring with ranged attack or talent (For example, attempt to fire ranged weapon or cast single target spell such as Winter's Grasp, or Varric/rogue talents, such as Kickback, Pinning Shot). 

Result: About 30% of the time the attack or talent is not activated and the listed attack disappears from the party member status description bar. When this occurs, for the remainder of the Gravitic Ring duration, the enemy in the center of the Gravitic Ring can be hurt by AoE attacks, but not directly. 


I did some more testing with this on different difficulty levels and as far as I can tell the inability to target enemies and repeating audio loop only occurs with Rogue/Assassin enemies. Difficulty level has no effect.

I think it is caused by their attempt to Stealth while trapped in the Gravitic Ring. the audio seems to be the "entering stealth" audio file.

I will keep testing to see if it occurs with different types of enemies.

After patch, and creating a new game..

Hitting the "R" key to target nearest, does not always work. It rotates from not responding to attacking only once, then having to hit R again to continue attacking.

Also noticing a lot of duplicate items, rings, belts, with same stats, from random crates, barrels, etc...more than i saw before the patch

I just recently got the DLC "Exiled Prince." My character is in Act 3 and upon entering the chantry and initiating the conversation with Vael for the quest "Faith" the game freezes and has to be restarted.

My game completely freezes during the main quest "On the Loose." It happens about 10 unpaused seconds after entering the Alienage and seeing Huon use blood magic. There's no way to get around it as I have to do this to advance the story.
