Crash fixes would be nice!

After taking +/- 4hrs to install from the DVD (it kept finding CRC errors) I've managed to play until level 10... Now it crashes MUCH more frequently... Can't go any further.

Intel 2500k
ASUS P67 PRO
2x4GB Corsair XMS 3 1600
Gainward GTX 570 PHANTOM

Have tried playing in windowed / DX9 / no-AA etc etc still crashes.

Hi, I would like to see fixed the "Fools rush in" bug in 1.03. Hit me yesterday: had to replay a few hours of gameplay.

How are the devs supposed to know which bug to fix, when you're not saying what it is?

If you were a developer, you would know it.

A "fools rush in" search on the forums leads to 31 results all about the bug.
Not to speak about a search on Google with the same keywords.

Do you have other questions?

Here's a couple of 100% reproducible tactics screen bugs:

1. If you mouse over any tactic's condition on the right side of the condition box, the condition box is not highlighted - if you then left click as if to select the condition, instead of selecting it, the last condition on the last tactic you edited gets changed.

2. If you set up a tactic calling for the use of a healing potion if health goes below some point, and then after setting the tactic, move the tactic's position, after you exit the tactic's screen, and re-enter the tactic's screen, the "use healing potion" has been cleared - the tactic is now "if health < 10% :" and "use item: " with an empty space after the "use item" part, instead of the healing potion you put there earlier.

I hope you understood that - it's somewhat challenging to describe, rather than show. But both these bugs are 100% reproducible.

I believe the health potion one is getting fixed but other than that tactics will not be getting touched this patch. We'd like to address all of the inherent issues with the system when we decide to tackle it.

Okay so I don't know if this has been brought up or addressed elsewhere, but Scythe seems to be bugged for me. I've done two playthroughs as a rogue and warrior and when I or Fenris use Scythe, it will sometimes (it's not consistent which makes it even more odd) act multiple times on enemies in the vicinity (i.e. not the person I targeted). What happens is that it'll hit them like normal, but then it'll keep hitting them over and over again for about 5 seconds or until they die. This doesn't always happen, nor does it happen to all the enemies in the group. What's even more frustrating is that if another party member runs up after I've done it (usually Isabela) she will get hit by it as well even though she's behind me and it usually one-shots her. Finally, I have a friend who uses the same computer as I do and this has never happened to her.

A couple more symptoms/clarifications.
- This never happens to enemies with >normal rank.
- Sometimes enemies who didnt get hit initially will get hit if they run up after the animation has finished.
- It is possible to stop it from occuring by immediately doing another action (like Mighty Blow). Manually moving away will occasionally help.
- When it happens to an enemy, the animation for him getting knocked back will loop every time he gets hit, but as this happens at the rate of like 10/s only the beginning of the animation will play - that is it will restart from standing position every time (hard to explain in words, basically he just looks like he is jerking back and forth)

Come on Luke, I believe in you!  ../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png

So a developer, needs to do searches on google and on the site about a bug that probably happened before 1.02, and assume what bug you're getting and that you're getting exactly the same bug, instead of you just writing what it is, because you're too lazy? Great logic.

I just finished a play through where my M/Rogue rivalmanced Anders, but killed him at the end. When Varric is talking with Cassandra, he tells how everyone went their separate ways, except for Anders who remained by Hawke's side. All I could think of was 'ewwww...'!

No word about the fix for the Enigma or Kirkwall Act 1 in the Seneschal's room or is this an inappropriate place for it to be brought up since it's a system wide bug? Unfortunately PC cannot mash buttons as the consoles do to get it. If anything, Luke do you know if it is gonna be addressed in the coming patch?

Bug: After clearing out Danarius' Mansion for the quest 'Bait and Switch' you can gain either rivalry or friendship points with Fenris, yet his approval rating doesn't actually change.

Basically the nasty habit any of the potions (not just health) have of clearing themselves from your tactics slot when changing certain tactics around. Aveline has suffered many an injury in my playthroughs thanks to this annoying (albeit minor) inconvenience.

Thanks for the updates Mr. Barret it's good to know that the tactics scripting isn't being overlooked, even if you can't get around to fixing everything this upcoming patch.

Unfortunately the patch did not fix any of my issues (playing on PC).

As you have already made mention of, the "Who Needs Rescuing?" quest is still broken, in that the girl now shows up and I can talk to her, then she goes back to wait for Fenryiel but the quest does not update or say it's complete.

More importantly, the Exiled Prince content is still hosed for me. Here is the state of my game with as many relevant details as I can think of.

I finished the game before ever downloading this content. I also never did any of the Chantry board quests in that play through.

Now, obviously, I cannot do anything with Sebastian in my last save that was post-end-game events (play time 40:39:20), where I'm in my estate, which is fine and not a problem as far as I'm concerned. However, if I go back to the "Year Seven" auto-save (play time 39:05:23), it is in a broken state. Both the Exhiled Prince quest and the Faith quest show up as in the Chantry and the Chantry board is completely empty - not only is the Duty quest not there, but neither are any of the other Chantry quests I never completed. All I can do with Sebastian is the Exiled Prince and Faith quests - so I go in and meet him, go to meet Leliana, then go back and warn the Grand Cleric. I never get the Duty quest or any other content for him (not really worth the money I spent).

I have to go all the way back to my save with play time 28:10:14, which was before I even finished Demands of the Qun, to find a game that will load with Duty (and all the other quests I never did) showing up on the Chantry board. In that save, Exiled Prince shows up as a quest at the Chantry board in Hightown instead of in the Chantry, and Faith doesn't show up yet at all, as expected. I can click on Sebastian to trigger the cut scene where he posts Duty, then I can accept Duty, which completes Exiled Prince. Then I can complete Duty and turn it in to him in the Chantry when I'm done. After that, I would have to complete Demands of the Qun to go any further, so I stopped. I really had no intention of replaying the game from this far back, but I wanted to at least go through these steps to see the difference in what I could do in this save versus the later saves that seem hosed.

It is not worth it to me to have to try to get past that ridiculous fight with the Arishok again, and then redo 11 more hours of content to be able to finish the game with the DLC, when all I wanted to was to play the additional DLC content. If my Year Seven auto-save or any of the other saves closer to the end of the game would load in the right state, I wouldn't mind replaying an hour or two, but the way it stands now, I'm very frustrated and unhappy with my experience, and definitely not going to go all that way back just for the DLC, so I'm feeling ripped off having paid for something that I cannot enjoy.

If there's any other helpful information I can add, let me know.

By the way, it's great that you guys are taking user feedback and making a public prioritization list of that feedback for upcoming patches. That kind of transparency is rare and appreciated.

I can confirm Nathaniel reads the Architect flag correctly now. However, he still refers to the Warden having strange allies and living in complicated times. I'm confused. Actually, I'm confused as to why the Warden is even in Thedas to begin with. I followed Morrigan. Are they "allies" from following Morrigan into the mirror, or do I still for some reason have Darkspawn allies despite killing the Architect? Er, well, I guess the "warden commander" might not necessarily by "the first warden," but that makes it even more confusing why the wardens would have strange allies.

*Edit*

I can also confirm that the patch does NOT fix already-broken stats from the bugs that existed in the game (at least not Damage Resistance)... And since only BioWare knows *all* of the sources of error and what they do, there's no way to make a "legal" save file. For instance, if an item set bonus is +1 magic, and I used it, did it reduce my magic by 1 every time I removed the item set? After all the modifications made to my magic score over the course of the game, it'd be impossible for me to know what my score should be. So since the patch didn't even fix Damage Resistance, maybe I'll just pump up all my stats since once again, there's no way to have a legal save file thanks to the bugs that existed.

I pitty console users whose characters will now be permanently nerfed.

*Edit again*

Wow, the animation speed is STILL bugged. No, I don't just mean it didn't revert to 0 speed. I mean it went to -5 again somehow....

And it has been confirmed at the current point the game does not check on any flags from Golems or Witchhunt at this point.

As mentioned on the first page of this thread, the patch 1.02 did not fix the issue retroactive only for New Games. A retroactive Fix is being worked on for patch 1.03

Hi there,
I recently upgraded the kickback ability for Varric. The description says that it now should make 800% damage to staggered enemies. However the effect does not occur. Anybody else had this problem?

The upgrade doesn't actually confer any bonus damage against Staggered targets, the multiplier simply increases the Physical force applied against them (ie the Knock Back). While it doesn't exactly light the world on fire it still has some uses, still you may want to consider something else if you're looking for a burst damage CCC.

Area of effect spells will often get locked onto a particular enemy and completely unable to move the reticle, AND unable to cast. Kinda makes a mage a wimp, you know? The effect disappears if the enemy is defeated or stealths.

I also lose the ability to command people to move about the battlefield or target specific enemies. Good stuff...

Also, it may just be me, but the mana/stamina regeneration rate seems to be broken. My mana regeneration should be something like 20 per second, but it actually comes out to be something like 1 per second. Yeah, great stuff...

Also, would someone keep team mates from walking directly into sustained area of effect damage, EVEN AFTER I COMMAND THEM AWAY?

this threa details the problems with lacerate atm.
http://social.biowar...5/index/7053218
the way it stands lacerate is near worthless talent atm. Before 1.02 it used to work like it is supposed to un upgraded as upgrading it would reduce its damage instead of increasing it.
Now lacerate only does weapon dmg, when it is supposed to do around 140% damage of whatever attack triggered it.

I don't understand what you want.
You are not a developer. If a developer want more info about the bug I'm talking about can ask me (no one did).

You are worried for a thing that is perfectly clear, imo, as there is only one very well know bug with that quest, reported over 30 times in the forum, and I was just reminding it in this thread (btw, it is still valid because I got it in 1.02). So, please stop commenting my posts: you already put -unasked- your 2c.

The one thing for which I'd like Bioware to fix is the Sebastian Achievemnt trophy. As I've gotten him to full friendship and yet it won't give the Achievement.

"Sketchy on the Details" quest is unfinishable on patch 1.02. Sketch stand still in docks at night with quest marker above his head and nothing one can do about it. Sebastian got his friend upgrade to early in comparison to other characters - he got only 75% to max. friendship.
