While I realize that bug fixes are the priority here could we please do something about Fireball? As it stands, this spell is utterly useless and in dire need of some rebalancing.
Just for you, I'm going to make sure this is in the next patch. When it comes out and everyone is like 'Damn, fireball is awesome now!' they can thank you
(and for those who hate sarcasm, fireball is already planned to be strengthened in the next patch)

I just take Fireball, now, to get to Firestorm...I never even bother upgrading it because it sucks. Nice to see an old favorite from DAO will be getting needed attention! Thanks!
Anyway...is there any more news on when this patch may roll out? I am almost done a second playthrough and want to hold off on a third until 1.03 is out.

When giving Aveline the shield gift, she'll get all ****y at you and accuse you of selling her late husbands shield if she's not currently equipped with it. What's your problem, lady?! It's in a box at my house, just like a thousand feet from here!
Along the same lines, I think a mage Hawke with Spirit Healer should get some of the healing opportunities that Anders does. I have a sneaking suspicion that in Merrill's Act 2 quest, you're able to heal the dude who gets trampled by the Verital if you have Anders with you. Well guess what? A 3 mage (me, Merrill, Anders), 1 long-range rogue (which you pretty much have to have with you to open chests if you're not a rogue yourself, since you can't return to dungeons) party isn't exactly very practical.

I paid Bartrand the 50 sovereigns, and did not have the maps from
Anders. Regarless, I was repeatedly seeing the "You've paid the cash and
you have the maps, so wrap up your side quests and go!" loading screen.
Actually
it's something more like, "Against all odds, you've managed to finance
the expedition and obtain a map to the Deep Roads. Bartrand isn't ready
to leave yet though, so you have time to complete your business in
Kirkwall."
But yeah. The point is, I didn't have the maps.

I checked the list and it doesn't seem to be on it. I experience delayed audio in dialogue which causes audio stuttering, audio looping, visual (model) looping and sttuering, and at times silence and audio (driver?) malfunction.

This isn't really something they can just investigate as a bug based on what you have posted. I suggest making a help thread about it here in this forum.

And this may sound obvious, but have you updated the drivers for your audio device? Have you updated DirectX? If that doesn't work, I suggest making a new thread.

No he cannot. If he is with you Merril will ask him to, but he says he can't.Tony_Knightcrawler wrote...

Indeed. Apart from the minor dialogue differences, it doesn't matter which companions are there or not. I'm pretty sure that's working as intended.

The game will make a check to see if Aveline is wearing the shield. If she's not it just assumes that you've sold it or don't have it and you get that dialogue option. If she IS wearing it, she will still get irritated with you but instead says "I have a shield, etc etc."
I keep his shield for RP reasons, but it doesn't matter, even if it's in your bags. Unless she is actually wearing it the dialogue doesn't change.

I am not sure if it has been reported but the epic achievement is not working. I finished the game twice and did not get the achievement. I just finished the game this evening for the second time.
Yeah it has. This and supplier have some issues - I haven't mentioned it on PC tech, apparently console people care more about achievements and trophies than PC gamers, who'd have guessed?!
Anyways, currently if you're not importing a DAO save you'll be very unlikely to get Epic (though its not impossible and is based wholely on an unlikely mathematical situation) - it will be fixed in the next patch, though. Just keep your end game saves and you should be able to just load them to get the achievement to fire.

As a PC gamer...I can attest to the fact that Achievements are meaningless!

And that would be the bug exactly as I described it.

Ah well, he's been able to save people in other conversations, so I suspected he might have been able to save this guy as well. It's just that Merrill asked me if there was anything I could do, and I felt like screaming "YES! My revive spell isn't on cooldown or anything!"

An attempt to issue a game for three platforms at once caused that one fails to play
normally on PC. I have not had any bugs or failures in Neverwinter Nights 2,
Dragon Age Origin, Mass Effect (1&2). I’d like to mark that all of the games were passed on the
same laptop. I suppose that in pursuit of profit Bioware has compromised on
quality. Why did those who have been loyal fans of Bioware games before PS and
Xbox get pinched?
As for the
problems themselves:
1. Game hangs-up when loading the save
game with the following failure and quit to the desktop and the process
suspended in the memory. It is impossible to stop the task, this is only reboot
that helps.
2. Game hangs-up right after the
Bioware intro. Can’t kill the task.
3. Unexplainable hangs-up in the
process of the game with the following quit to the desktop and the process
suspended in the memory.
The game: pre-ordered Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition, patch 1.02 High Resolution Texture Pack
Software: Windows 7 Ultimate, NVIDIA driver 270.61 for notebooks, DX11
Hardware : HP pavilion DV5 (Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT VRAM 512 Mb,
RAM 2048Mb, HDD 500Gb)

PC version, patch 1.02 installed.
1. "Jump to x" on tactics goes to "Jump to x-1"
2. A tactic pair of the nature:
"Enemy:Target rank is Elite or higher - Use current condition for next tactic"
"Enemy: Health < 25% - Zap him"
doesn't do "Set your target to the nearest high-ranker and then zap him if he is low on health", nor does it do "zap your current target if he is a high-ranker and low on health", both of which are logical and desirable options. Instead it does "zap your current target if he is low health and there is a high-ranker somewhere in play", which is probably not very useful.
3. If you move one tactic to a new posiiton in the list, other tactics may be shuffled about, apparently at random.
4. Use Item tactics are still losing the "item" data after first setting them, or if you change the tactics sequence later.
5. Stonewall and Retaliation will both still freeze up a player/companion under certain circumstances. (I think it's when the enemy concerned dies, or targets another companion, or is immobilised)
6. Armistics is usable in tactics, but not manually as it seems to use the wrong targetting method?
7. The Lifeward potion is rendered useless in many combat situations as the target just dies again immediately, possibly because the health regeneration isn't instant?
