Is there any plan to fix the quest "Forbidden Knowledge"?
If I choose any option other than "Destroy" any of the Evil Tome, the quest cannot be completed at all, and I can never get the Evil Grimoire
Is this intended?
I believe you should be able to 'finish' the quest but you should never be able to get the final area without destroying all of them. (sidenote, when you get in to the final one, you can read the book for +2 stats without breaking anything

- the endgame rivalry part is currently 'fixed' in the packages for the next patch so assuming nothing crazy happens that requires it to be cut (or it just breaks again without anyone noticing) it should be in the next patch
- the Amulet part doesn't appear to have had an issue reported for previously so that's in now and hopefully that gets addressed before fixes for the next patch are locked

Luke, I just want to confirm that the devs are aware--as ejoslin has pointed out a number of times--that the problems with former DAO companions/love interests aren't just import-related. Even with a completely "correct" import achieved via mods and dev console/savegame editing, there are still problems with dialogue misfiring. So it's a combination of import problems AND dialogue scripting/cues. Since the list on the first page only says "import problems" I want to be certain the dialogue scripting problems get proper recognition as well.
We're aware that some of these are not a product of the larger import issue. Do you happen to have a comprehensive list so I can make sure we didn't miss any?

Give us back Orana please, even after main campaign is complete.
I had her in act 2 and whole act 3, but after game end, she disappeared.
Post-Campaign right now is just a template (more or less) and doesn't really reflect your game at all. We're working on making sure this is done correctly before any DLC is released.

Sorry for repeating it, but does "Import Issues" in the list include Nathaniel and Anders considered dead if left behind in fully upgraded Vigil's Keep (Awakening)? The Awakening epilogue clearly states they both live but in DA2 it is not so. To obtain "Finding Nathaniel" quest we currently need to use Monochrome Wench's mod.
It falls under Import Issues (Awakening). According to everything I've learned on the issues with DAA the game only recognizes your characters as living if you brought them with you to fight the Broodmother because apparently there is no post-game save in DAA. So, if you don't want to use that mod you'll need to replay the end of Awakenings and bring Nathaniel with you to the end.
This, along with the approval issue (both Awakenings) are being looked at.

This bug will impact future DLCs:
Description: After finishing the game the player's chest in the Hawke Estate is empty.
How to reproduce: Store some items in the chest in the Hawke Estate. Finish the game. Check the chest.
DA2 version: PC version 1.02.
I've been assured that this will be fixed before any DLC rolls out, whether it be in the next patch or part of the DLC itself.
As for the tactics issues, we'll be addressing all of these at some point but it will not be the next patch. Sorry.
And the gamma thing is fixed in 1.03 - for now you'll just have to wiggle the slider every time you start the game

Arcane shield is still not fixed.
In description it says that it grants 20% defense and magic resistance for all party, but it grants 15% of defense to caster, and 5% magic resistance to party, no defense at all.
We didn't change any strings (I dont think) and definitely didnt change any combat mechanics in this patch. They'll be addressed in the next patch.

Haven't seen a Bioware post in here for a while... My reports weren't added to the list either as far as I can see.
Luke, are you on vacation?
Easter weekend + I've been heading up some DAO stuff as well. I'm still here, don't worry! I'll go through the posts tomorrow and update accordingly.
(oh and NHL Playoffs all weekend!)

Can we get any patch status update? My "unborn" mage is getting anxious.
We're closing in on a lock for fixes, which is when we stop making code changes and focus exclusively on testing, after that is certification and then it goes live. A realistic timetable is still too variable at this time.

While I realize that bug fixes are the priority here could we please do something about Fireball? As it stands, this spell is utterly useless and in dire need of some rebalancing.
Just for you, I'm going to make sure this is in the next patch. When it comes out and everyone is like 'Damn, fireball is awesome now!' they can thank you
(and for those who hate sarcasm, fireball is already planned to be strengthened in the next patch)

I am not sure if it has been reported but the epic achievement is not working. I finished the game twice and did not get the achievement. I just finished the game this evening for the second time.
Yeah it has. This and supplier have some issues - I haven't mentioned it on PC tech, apparently console people care more about achievements and trophies than PC gamers, who'd have guessed?!
Anyways, currently if you're not importing a DAO save you'll be very unlikely to get Epic (though its not impossible and is based wholely on an unlikely mathematical situation) - it will be fixed in the next patch, though. Just keep your end game saves and you should be able to just load them to get the achievement to fire.
