Not wholly related, but I'm running the steam version so should I wait for Steam to roll out the patch, or is it safe to just download it from this site?

If you have the steam version you'll need to steam patch. It should be out very soon to my knowledge.

So are we going to get details about which fixed bugs require new playthroughs or save modification?  It would be beneficial to get the gory details about which fixes are retroactive and which are not when it comes to the save game fixes.

This may had been mentioned previously, the Isabella/Sebastian bugs. Will they be fixed in a current game or will a new game have to be started?

To all those asking question about what patch 1.02 fixes, I think the idea is that you patch the game and go and find out ... this thread being a place to then confirm what has been fixed.

Yes, but it's easier to just ask, because the devs would know for sure what should be retroactive.

For instance, I would not expect this kind of stuff to be fixed without a new game, because it was imported from an Origins save that the game no longer has any knowledge of, so there's no real way to retroactively fix this.

The Isabella/Sebastian bugs, on the other hand, affect stats that are hardcoded or can be calculated, so those could be retroactively fixed.

Import option with an savegame from Awakening does still not work. I made a new char with and vault shows that I don't have a romance with someone in Origins.

Can confirm that the Merrill plotline bug is fixed and she no longer mourns the loss of the Keeper etc as soon as I enter her house in Act 3. Awesome!

Have you tried analyzing the Awakening save game?  It's possible the issue is that the Awakening save is bugged and not the import.

I'm guessing you left Anders in the Keep and saved the City? One thing I noted while modding a Post-Awakening/WH save was that while the game kept track of the upgrades you made to Vigil, it immediately flagged Anders and Nathaniel, both of whom was left behind in a fully upgraded Vigil, as dead. I think the issue here is that the flag was already wrongfully set and a patch to DA2 won't help at all there, unless it's going to read if the Vigil was fully upgraded and then connect the dots from then on.

Also, Awakening doesn't copy all the flags from Origins either (it doesn't note relationship value, IIRC) which does suck. :|

ETA: I can't remember offhand but I think WH further stripped flags from an Awakening save.

I had heard there were issues in Awakenings not importing/exporting flags properly from DA:O.

So does this mean all the wait was for nothing?

Have any of the savegame import problems been fixed?

I stopped playing the game in Act I weeks ago because all those import bugs were reported. Now I was looking forward to get some information on whether I can continue my playthrough with 1.02 or whether I need to start over.

Now does 1.02 even fix anything concerning this? Not listed so far...

I check the save game with an editor. It seems that the approval value is not imported so DA 2 consider that Anders and Nathaniel are out. But in my games they survived. I still got the game installed and i can check the epilog easily.

Over 100 fixes/changes were checked in to the patch. This doesn't necessarily mean they are all content changes that require a note - also, many of them are clustered in to general fixes in the notes.
