I think most people are saying that certain people can't be squadmates out of trepidition. That's understandable, but I want people to take notice of something. EAWare has shown that they do not care about quality and that is something BioWare was known for. ME2 and DAII are perfect examples of that. Yes, both of the stories companions were very well written and yes both of them had very flimsy plots. Why couldn't I tell the Illusive Man to go f himself and take my nice ship and do the missions without his guidance and tell the Alliance or the Council all I'm doing to get back on their good side. Certainly would've proved my loyalty, would've added more roleplaying experience, and certainly more variables. DAII showed that you're important because... well, you're important.

Now getting to Mass Effect 3. Consider the following that Anders could've died in DA:O-A. Well he showed up alive and well in DA2 irregardless what happens to him, even if he called the Wardens his BFFs for life. Thanks for making my choice matter, oh and how does that time frame work out again? Right it shouldn't. Considering this, does it really matter if Liara's the Shadow Broker now, she can't possibly be a squadmate? Oh no the VS, there's two of them, they can't possibly make that many dialogue trees? Garrus, he could die in ME2, there's no way he can be a full fledged squadmate!

Look, this is what I'm telling you, if BioWare truly developed that egine at the end of ME2 that reads your choices really quickly than all of these people can be permanent squadmates. Not only that, but think of it this way. EA loves money. BioWare knows quality. EA may have seen most of the original fans reactions to ME2 and DAII and how there was much anger. BioWare said, can we please do it our way now? EA probably caved a little bit which is why there's more variance, but that's not the whole reason. If you want to make a game epic, go for broke. If you want to solidify your name as the best, do the impossible. Make it groundbreaking. Make the VS a full fledged companion with total different dialogue trees and any specific ME2 survivor they want and have them a full fledged companion, but do it well if they survived.

Remember, if it's done and done well who cares if you didn't get it because you killed such and such. If you want to solidify, go for broke because no one can ever question you again. Also, of course James Sanders is going to be there the entire game. He'd be dead in a heartbeat, as we all know Shepard has a dialogue option after losing the VC (Virmire Casualty) that says he'll never lose another man if he can help it, because he knows zilch: nada. He is the new players brain discovering everything for the first time, meaning everything.

Just my opinion, don't taze me bro.
