This patch doesn't improve much the DX11 performance. Only a little.BioWare needs to work more on optimization.

If you've got a Nvidia card you should try out their latest beta drivers. Massive improvement on my 460GTX card.

Errr I'm on Crossfired 2 ATI 5970 4GB hd gfx cards and I crash in DX11. I'm getting shadow flicker (kind of like GTA 4 on pc) and shadow ghosting (Wierd black phantoms on the top left of my screen); besides that I have entire weapons disappearing on people - when in combat it looks like they're swinging an invisible sword. After awhile the game just seizes up and I have no choice but to kill it. This -only- happens in DX11. (yes, drivers are up to date.)

I believe there are new AMD drivers in the works which are intended to sort DX11 issues (certainly for Shogun 2, which is why it shipped without any DX11 support), those might fix some or all of your issues. They sound exactly like the graphics problems I was having with DA2 before the recent Nvidia beta drivers were released.

No seriously. Do you really have nothing better to do than grief Bioware? At least they are fixing mistakes ASAP instead of ignoring them.

I payed 60$ for a game that was complete trash, if I cant have fun on it, ill have fun reminding Bioware how little i like their sold out series.

The funny thing about all this is that i'm not mad about buying this game, 60 dollars isn't going to break me, and I'd be a lot more receptive to the game if it didn't have so many buggy issues... This is still Bioware, and I expect a little more from them.... I could almost forgive a lot of "Streamlining" issues that I had problems with had they just took the time to polish the experience a bit.

Think of it as paying for a pre-order and getting access to the open beta.

Thing is, if you're working to test, improve, fix, or advise on someone's product, they should be paying you at least the $60 to perform that service for them.

White knights vs Whiners in this thread.

I guess I'll join the side of whiners. I've installed patch 1.02 and logged in. Decided to use a Maker's Sigh because apparently it's supposed to work properly now. I'm level 15 and I have 28 ability points to spend. Can someone explain this? Am I really going to need to start from the beginning and redo everything all over again to fix this? I just want to have the proper amount of ability points. Is that so much to ask for? Jesus Christ.

Gotta say, this game is a mess and I'm very unimpressed. For new players, go ahead and buy it - the story ain't bad, and there is quite a bit of fun here - but save often at various stages - you'll need it. I've not seen anything this messy in years - it feels like gaming in the 90's again. I'd be playing, but thought I'd waste another hour reading these forums for useful tips. Ain't found any.

Aside from a few choppy cut scenes, I haven't had any problems with bugs. Maybe one or two crashes in 60 hours of game play. Not bad at all.

So the patch won't fix my slowed-down rogue. Great. Seventy-odd hours of gameplay ruined. **** you, Bioware, I won't be buying any more of your dodgy, broken games. I can't believe there are actually people defending them!

It's a pain, and a basic programming error caused the issue with Izzy and Bastion's friendship bonuses, but there are fixes out there, if you're willing to go outside Bioware's patches and look to the mod community.

It doesn't appear to fix saves that are already affected -- this takes editing the save manually.

I started over. I couldn't handle having way too many ability points anymore. I've decided to be very careful about not spending my points stupidly this time so I won't have to use the Maker's Sigh, even if they do claim to have fixed it. I'm not taking any chances.

Other than these stupid bugs, the game is pretty good. I'm hoping I can get all the way to the end this time, though.

One weird thing I noticed after the patch- I started a new game as a rogue since auto-attack is finally in and my family all have different hairdos. Carver had the same hair as the Viscount's son, Bethany has a shorter, straighter cut(which looks as good if not not better) and mum has a terrible bowl-cut thing going on. I thought it was strange since I had previously started 4 different characters and they all had the same, seemingly default hairdos.

Your family's appearance changes depending on the preset you choose as a base for your custom Hawke.

Really?  It fixed mine...now Hawke just stops entirely every time a fight commences, instead of just slowing to a crawl.  So now I just switch to a different character and run every battle with only 3 in the party.  Too bad you can't win them all that way, and I'll eventually get to a point where I can't go any further in the game thus rendering the whole thing utterly useless...but why fret over a minor bug such as this.  So good job Bio(EA)Ware.  Spot on with this patch.

oh look, yet another patch from bioware that is practically meaningless.

I love the fact that game companies with way smaller budgets can put out more patches to their games in a month then you guys ever do to your games.

Patches with you guys are extremely minimal, and then you ignore the real problems still in the games but just move on to the next game. Just look at DA:O, still littered with bugs even to this day.

"No fix for you, please stand in line for the next game, and HAVE YOUR $60 READY"

dragon age 2 failed so hard, and what do you do? ignore the bad press and angry customers, and then bust out the hype machine for mass effect 3. (which I wont be buying)

wake up people, bioware doesn't care about making great games, but they do care about taking your money. only reason im here now is because of the patch and my hopes that we'll see bioware man up and admit that DA2 was sold in an unacceptable state and give its "loyal customers" a REAL reward, other then gifting out ME2, which everyone and their mothers already own.

Just look at the avatar for most the dev's.... THE DOLLAR!
