A long time, yeah...but four years?

One meal a month could really stretch out things.

If they're sitting on their ass doing nothing like Sten was then maybe, but if they want to remain battle ready they probably need a lot more energy.

Sten was ready for battle immediately after being released from his cage, and that was after 21 days I believe. So it seems that one meal a month, could be common for the Kossith race. And perhaps the Viscount supplied the Qunari, in an attempt to improve the diplomatic relations.

Cake is not a demand of the Qun, but COOKIES are.

They have been ever since Sten returned to share their glory with Qun.

In DA:O Sten says there are no cookies  where he is from.  I suppose he could have taken a recipe back home but that still would be a fast rise in popularity.  It is my guess that pie is the demand of the qun.
