Why Anders?

Why did Bioware bring Anders and Justice back regardless of our choices? I'm not complaining but, why him? Considering they changed his personality and such, why not introduce some new character? Anders can't have some greater plot in the future, considering he dies in 2 out of 3 endings.

I wish Ser Pounce-a-lot would've made a cameo. though.

And why not bring Anders back in?
It would feel just as random having a RANDOM Grey Warden who's also a healer, Ferelden and helping the Ferelden refugees. That would be so stupid >.>.

If you go back and read/listen to the banters and I'M ALWAYS UP FOR A SPOT OF ICONOCLASM it's not difficult to conclude ~*they planned it all along*~

Technically they brought Anders AND Justice back. XD Well, in Awakening, Anders is one of the few characters that can never die in the ending... if I remember right? I think he was the best choice because he's a mage and could host Justice, which made a more interesting conflict. I thought bringing back one old character was a good idea, and I guess, why not Anders? I don't think any of the other characters would've been a great male LI who also doubled someone who would take the Templars vs. Mages conflict to the next level.

You can send him off to die after the beginning and if you leave him behind at the unupgraded keep, he dies. (which they handwave by saying he swapped his clothes with a dead body or something)

Because they were deliberately setting up a likeable character for them to tear down later. It would not have been as impactful if they'd just created an entirely new character without giving you any reference of how much better off both of them were before they merged.

That... Actually makes sense.

Lol I have this image of Morrigan blowing up the chantry and looking really pleased with herself, and everyone facepalming - more surprised that she didn't do it sooner than anything.

Morrigan is an isolationist, not a terrorist. She doesn't care about the fate of other mages besides herself, as demonstrated when you goto the circle in DAO. Give her unlimited power and all she would do is conjure stuff in the wilderness.

Bolded for emphasis because you answered your own question. I believe using Anders was a conscious decision to show how much dedication to a single cause can warp someone beyond recognition. While Hawke doesn't know Anders from Awakening, the player does. The player can watch that light-hearted jester of a personality spiral downwards into something different and warped. It wouldn't have been as effective with another character. Plus, using Anders allows for some sympathy in his portrayal because we the players know where he came from.
Plus, much of this was foreshadowed in Awakening. Listen to the banters between Nate and Justice about spirits becoming demons and needing a new host. As for Anders not playing a big role in the future...I don't know about that. BioWare's been shown to bring back characters if they feel their story is too important to push by the wayside. I for one hope for something more for him, even if it's relegated to DLC. Those of us who kept him alive (especially those of us who romanced him) want a bit more closure. I for one want to separate him from Justice, though this desire may be confined to the realm of fanfiction for now.

She wouldn't blow the Chantry up to save the mages. She'd blow the Chantry up for the lolz.

The issue I have with this conclusion is discounting the fact that Morrigan cares or doesn't care about Templars. Even in the end of Witch Hunt, as referenced in my sig...she makes reference towards the changing of the world. She might mean with her God Baby or something, but the "sometimes it sets them free" leads me to believe it was more foreshadowing, like Awakenings, to the mage/templar conflict. Morrigan clearly has a goal in mind, so to say that if you gave her unlimited power she would go screw around in the forest with all this power...I find to be an incorrect notion of her character.
As far as her blowing up a Chantry, no you wouldn't see Morrigan do this. Because Morrigan is not the one who is living under Templar control. Why should she be the first to attack...when she has not let herself be oppressed? She has more pressing things to tend to, and the only way the Circle Mages will change is if they change themselves and stand up for themselves. She doesn't have this problem, she hasn't had it her whole life. I could easily see her blowing something up though, but as far as this act is concerned...she has no reason to.
People are too focused on the "Morrigan wants ONLY power! Morrigan ONLY cares about herself!" superficial aspects of her character. If a war was broken out between Mages and Templars, I think Morrigan would at least have something to say about it. She might be too busy scheming/doing other worthwhile things...but the odds of her just flat out not caring I find to be slim.
Even in Origins, she frequently makes statements that point towards her actual disgust being with the people that let themselves be "corralled" and live as slaves. The mere fact that she mentions these things is enough to say she cares as far as that is concerned. Morrigan thinks they don't deserve to be saved because they have already given up their lives, not because she just is extremely joyful at the opportunity to kill whoever she wants. It disgusts her that they have all become complacent and obedient to their Templar watchdogs.
"So the mages are all locked within? A fitting end for those who gave up their own freedom."
She says as much if you enter the Alienage as well...why haven't the Elves done something? "And these elves allow themselves to be herded together in this filth why, exactly?"
At least the Dalish didn't give up their dignity. "At least they have chosen freedom over subjugation. Better hardship and danger than slavery."
(entering Dust Town) "Why do the poor not rise up against their betters? This I never understood."
Morrigan is ALL about landing a blow against your attackers/oppressors so Anders "terrorism" would not have bothered her in the least, if anything she would have thought it was ballsy. Not to mention if the Circle Mages have finally chosen to do something instead of sit around...if she weren't busy (which she is with OGB) I doubt she would run off into the forest, and not do **** as far as the Templars are concerned when there is a war going on. She has no love for them, and she would gladly kill them if they came a-knocking.

Your don't really send him off to die in the beginning, you let the templars take him. Which of course, means that he will escape, like he usually does. The only real "death" ending is leaving him at the keep.
