Since I didn't see any thread about this  - I decided to start one.

Today marks the 50th anniversary Yuri Gagarin's historic space flight in the Vostok 1 spacecraft, which made the Soviet cosmonaut the first human in space.
During a 108-minute flight on April 12, 1961, Gagarin was the first
human to escape Earth’s gravity and achieve orbit.

I personally find it a great achievement for all humankind and since some of us play games such as Mass Effect ,which have bits of space exploration in it, I thought that I should just remind people so they can be aware of this day and be proud for all humanity.

Now if only humanity would stop droping the ball, and keep doing this with out having to one up another nation...

Ah well I really hope I get to see the Chinese mission to the moon in 2012.
