So my character has been romancing Merrill, everything was going well until I went and do A New Path. After doing the quest nothing happened. After researching a bit I found out I got a common bug which is that I get the ending sequence of that quest when I go visit Merrill for the first time in Act III. My question is, does this interfere with the romance, I'm pretty sure it will stop me from ending the romance *super sad face* but if there's a way for me to still end the romance I would like to hear it

Also I am sorry if this is in the wrong section. I have checked to see if I have the save Year Seven and I do and I didnt get the bug, but it would really suck to lose 5 hours of gameplay.....

It has nothing to do with the romance.

Also, the new patch fixes that bug.

So if I don't complete this quest the romance can still be finished? I installed the new patch but its a little too late D=

It's not specifically related to the relationship. There might be some dialog differences in how it's resolved, but that's it. You'll get the quest weather you romance Merrill or not. The romance is 'resolved' in the last stage of the game.

*sighs in relief* I was seeing 5 hours of gameplay disappearing....Okay thank you, now I'm off to make Hawke's version of Feynriel creepy...
