My most used in both games were the Krogan in their respective games, Tali, and garrus. Legion would have been up there too if you were able to get him earlier in the game. He is very useful. And I read the GI article, and if Tali is not in ME 3 I will be dissappointed in the extreme.

I usually took Garrus + whoever made my team the most balanced with Shepard's class. I rarely play soldiers, so that left Tali and Liara as my last choices.

I switched parties more often in ME2 because of the personal quests, but Garrus always took that second spot. When I had free choice of squaddies I'd always bring Jack along too. I didn't really give a crap about who was the best suited in this game, I just took who I wanted to hear talk the most.

In ME2 I change squadmates for each mission. That said, some of them get used more frequently due to their effectiveness on Insanity.

I hope that ME2 isn't tracking which squadmates are used when and then changing my playthrough of ME3 based off of that. I'd like it to be more transparent, so I can get the desired results consciously in ME3. That's the problem with all of these choices, I guess.

It depends on your class.  He's great ammo support early in the game.  And he's useful for quick access to Pull for Warp bombs.

Don't forget that he, like Miranda, has one extra squad point.  By the time you're level 30 this won't matter, as you shouldn't ever have points in Barrier (on Insanity).  But I'm derailing this thread.

When in combat I keep her in her DLC outfit (jeans, tank-top and jacket), would still prefer armour but at least it's better than a catsuit.

For me, I pretty much leave Miranda on my team at all times-

-Against geth/synthetics I use Zaeed

-Against blue suns/husks/collectors I use Garrus

-Against Blood pack I use Grunt

-If I wanna just shoot **** up (and switch between squad disruptor and armor piercing) I'll take Zaeed and Garrus


As for who I least use, I've only used Jack, Tali and Kasumi for their loyalty missions, and I get Garrus first, so Jacob doesn't see any more missions after that

1- Wrex (tank life+Assault rifle+biotics)

2- Garrus (Well armed+ armor piercing ammo= best ofensive squadie)

3- Kaidan (same as Miranda + shotgun & assault rifle)

4- Miranda (versatile in any situation)

5- Legion (Tali with better weapons + life shield, excellent against AI)

ME1: Yeah I used just Ashley & Kaiden until Virmire and then Garrus instead of Kaiden. I only used Liara & Tali once or twice each and Wrex I only did his loyalty mission.

ME2: I used Kasumi and Garrus until Horizon and then I'd use Thane and alternate between Garrus, Tali and (when I got him) Legion. Grunt to fight Blood Pack, Zaeed to fight Blue Suns or Blood Pack, Jack to fight Eclipse, Mordin for non-combat missions. I only used the others when I had to (or if it triggered unique dialogue) and did all loyalty missions. I was gutted that I got Mordin killed though.

id never have used anyone other then liara and wrex in ME1 if bioware didnt tie opening crates to being a techie.

garrus + wrex in ME1 is unmatched. two powerhouses at your side!

ME2 i use em all. i rarely use zaeed tho, even tho hes the first squaddy i always run into.

In another playthrough I used Kaidan 100%, Garrus 95%, Liara (Just for Noveria), Tali, Ashley, Wrex
ME 2: Garrus, Tali, Mordin, everyone else once for their loyalty mission.
Used Garrus 100% of the time as soon as I had him.

For ME1 it doesn't really matter. You probably wanted someone with decryption and electronics. I never paused and you couldn't hotbar squad powers so who you had with you was almost irrelevant.

As for ME2, it is much more strategical, but also gets warped by the order you recruit them. Plus certain squadmates go much better with certain classes. It would probably be
1) Miranda
2) Jacob
3,4,5,6,7,8) Garrus,Mordin, Thane, Grunt, Kasumi, Zaeed
9,10,11,12) Samara, Tali, Jack, Legion

Common conclusion is that Legion was sentenced by getting him too late.

Garrus is still the most selected with Miranda.

Jacob is the less selected overall right now.
