I started playing DAO on hard difficulty, I finished all other major quests exept for Haven. now I am stuck in the Deep Roads and can't continiue, the battles there are the hardest I have seen so far

Does anyone knows some strategy i should use in these battles

My character is an Elf warior that fights with dual weapons

and the rest of my squad are:
Morrigan- has the following spels: Heal, Sleep, Death Magic, Curse of Mortality, Cone of Cold and all the spels she starts with
Alister
Oghren

any help would be appreciated

1. A spirit healer like Wynne should be more useful than Morrigan since group heal can keep the whole team up in battle.
2. is Alistair a Dex tank or con tank can play a huge difference since there are often many enemies and if you focus on con they will hit you often and your health depletes quickly( lifegiver in Garins shop is very useful to Alistair), Taunt should always be used when your tank have trouble to hold aggro of enemies.
3. try to pull small groups of enemies towards you rather than large and you will have a easier time.
4. try to have atleast two ranged companions so they can stand out the heat of battle.
5. be sure to have the best equipment to your level.

ok, then you have to go with morrigan and use regular heal and health poultices then.
BTW, why did you kill her was she too annoying ?.

Hmm... killing wynne, ouch - *wags finger at*, well she was going to eventually so...

If you have spirit healer already, i would probably make morrigan one to save a lot of groans in some hard battles.

Broodmother and paragon battle were both very akward for me.

Judging by the few powers morrigan has, you are playing this quest very early on... so i doubt oghren has final strike power - which is soooo awesome, just get lots of willpower for him if u want him a long time.

Final blow isn't especially useful in many battles since it drains all of your stamina and there's no way to replenish it besides death blow, it packs a punch against weaker enemies such as normal and lieutenants but is in no way useful in boss fights, your other talents is much more useful since you can use them several times and that way deal more damage.

Bit concerned that Morrigan looks underpowered (judging by your spell list) and I think that lacking a healer as well you will find particularly the Branka battle v. diff. on hard. Two mages are really a lot more powerfull than two fighters. Some notes on tactics in these battles follow, but I'm not sure how much help they will be in your current situation.

Branka

The main battle plan is to contain Branka whilst killing the four golems as quickly as possible so that Caradin's two ally golems are still alive to help defeat Branka. However Branka is difficult to contain. The main spell that keeps her out for any length of time is forcefield. She will get out of this before the cooldown period, so the next one that works best is misdirection hex. By the time that runs out forcefield should be available again. The quickest way to kill the four golems is to shatter the lower rank ones with cone of cold + stonefist/crushing prison combos then try to contain one elite golem with your mages (cycling cone of cold & winters grasp) whilst fighter/rogue pair kills the other.

Broodmother:

The Broodmother can be easily ground down from range provided you have a healer to fix the damage it deals out with it's spits.  The problem is the two cycles of attacks from its tentacles and the invasions of sundry darkspawn. I found a combination of tempest + inferno centred on the broodmother, although it doesn't hurt her, it does significant damage to the tentacles making it easier to finish them off when they attack you. Cone of cold them when they do, and focus on finishing off one at a time at close quarters.

A Paragon of Her Kind is considered by most the toughest of the 4 ally quests, and best done 3rd or 4th, so your party is stronger and better equipped.

Tanks with high dexterity have better defense, and with a good set of massive armor, they are quite durable and easier to heal/keep alive.

It seems that your party isn't level 14 yet? Have you had the chance to unlock spirit healer? That spec is essential for healer mages for group heal alone. Heal, group heal, regeneration and force field are essential healer mage spells, and you should try to get those a.s.a.p.

In my opinion, the spider queen is the toughest fight. I hate that fight, there's nothing worse than that constant webbing, overwhelming and spitting - and of course the "nah, dont want to fight... ill ascend into the ceiling for now". Make sure you dispatch her minions fast and dont let HER attack you via Poison Spit. It can kill a tank in mere seconds.

Apart from a fight with more than one emissary, the darkspawn shouldnt be a problem.
Broodmother can be defeated easily: stand on the stone so the tentacles cant reach you. If you can dish out high amounts of damage fast enough, you'll encounter less darkspawn during that fight. Use a tank backed up with nature salves to ignore her damage and keep her attention on the tank.

Branka is very boring, kill the golems first -> kill Branka. No tactics involved. You find her or the golems hard to defeat: let the tank grab their aggro and send him running in circles. Let your ranged weapons do the work. Doesnt matter if you have points in archery - it'll just take longer.
AND MAKE USE OF THAT LYRIUM before Branka or Caridin do as they will get slightly stronger and more annoying when they've consumed a few lyrium spots.

As a general rule if you find surviving too hard:
Sent the tank in first, taunt and then Force Field him. It is a cheap tactic, but if you really have troubles go for it. Force Field is one of the strongest spells in the game.

In my hard playthrough I noticed the only time I seemed to have problems was when I was being charged by a huge group of warriors or a mage who liked to be annoying. After 7 times during the battle against the Blood Mage Boss (Not sure of the quest. Its in Denerim) I figured out that I could use Glyph of Paralysis while my rogue put on Dual Striking, Mark of deathed him, and because of my paralyze runes in my daggers, single handedly killed him while the rest of my party mopped them up. I spent an hour figuring this out just because I refused to turn the difficulty down. Don't worry, there is a way to win you just have to figure it out.
