with thanes quest right at the end when you have to click on the politician for the last time it sometimes goes striaght to the movie before you have a chance of going through the doors to your right.

Personally never had the Thane quest glitch/bug you mention pop up myself. Perhaps others can verify.
Ish's quest line is bugged on that. (It does state what you've done, but stays highlighted.) I believe it is a widely known bug.
