Templars are explained in the Specialization's tool-tip, I'll copy/paste from DA Wiki:
"Though the Chantry controls the lyrium trade, those with the right connections can acquire enough to emulate the abilities of these vigilant warriors."
If I got it right, you're not really a Templar (after all, you've never enlisted or been ordered one), just a copycat, if you want. So, perhaps this is why nobody really cares, though Templars should be quite pissed at you for stealing their skills. Yeah, "should be"
[edit: in Origins, you can point out you're a Templar twice, once when Alistair talks about uniforms and then during Unrest in the Alienage, chatting with the Templar Ser Otto who gives you a quest]

Fenris: "Huh! mages, you're all alike."
Merril: ""
An hour and a lot of dead mobs later...
Anders: "Oh hello Hawke, I want to apologize about before, I did not realize that you were simply testing different spells variations."
Fenris: "Yes, it is.. reassuring. If only I knew that Maker's Sigh allows you to do that my thoughts about mages would have been different."
Merril: ":("

True, but there was only one instance that I am aware of that could illicit a comment from anyone about the protagonist being a blood mage, and you had to meet a very specific set of criteria. If you didn't, nobody ever said a word about it.

Uh, there are two possible instances that come to mind, one with Jowan and one with Wynne. Or maybe even the Connor part if you've recruited Templars and thus can't enter the Fade. Just speculating and guessing, though.
I played mage only once in more than fifteen playthroughs to have an Amell Warden to import, and I didn't happen to have that conversation (though being a Blood Mage/Spirit Healer).

If there is any incident with Jowan in which the protagonist being a blood mage is explicitly mentioned, I am not aware of it. Even during the scene with Jowan, Connor, and Isolde, nothing you do that I know of gets any response about you being a blood mage. There are just some general comments about how evil blood magic is.
The one time anyone says anything about you specifically being a blood mage is in the Tower with Wynne. Again, that's the only one I know of. If there are more I've never seen them or heard of them.

Oh, wild guessing sometimes works^^
Thanks for the explanation, I only got Wynne to attack me when I mentioned Morrigan being an apostate (I never recruit the old hag anyway, so no big deal

I'd love a scene when Anders catches you trying to huff some lyrium on the sly.
You might already know this, but I'm pretty sure that in Origins, when you converse with Alistair about him being a Templar, he makes it pretty clear that he left before getting addicted to the lyrium, and that you can perform Templar skills without being addicted. I don't remember the dialog, but I also thought there was speculation that the Chantry gets the Templars addicted as a means of control.
So if your Hawke is huffing lyrium and saying it's necessary for the Templar skill tree, then you might want to be concerned about your Hawke. Has your Hawke been spending more and more time at the Hanged Man? In Darktown? Lyrium is the gateway drug to Corrupted lyrium, you know. Intervention time!

That would've been the same response to a party with BM Hawke, Merrill, and glowing Anders. And what about Fenris? He's glowing too. No templars find that strange? :|
Then in Act 3 Meredith completely forgets about it. She DID threaten Anders though saying that the only thing protecting him was his friendship with Hawke. Meaning... Hawke and all her buddies are untouchable!
