Here's a post from the steam forums, where someone asked about preload. Is this a promising sign?

We can only hope that's true.

Well, that is promising, here's hoping it happens.

Steam pre-load, it would mean usually 24 hours before release date or a two day before. Happen with E:TW

Keeping fingers crossed ETW was a bit of a fiasco! Mine loaded while I was at work but there was much nerd rage before I got home on the forums!

For gosh sakes, it was debunked there too!
1) That was posted by a support guy.
2) Derek French posted on daforums.bioware.com AFTER that was posted and said that it was still in discussions and not finalized any direction yet but expect a final decision real soon.

Just as an update for you all. We are working with Valve and EA to resolve the pre-load situation for Dragon Age: Origins. Nothing is finalized one way or the other right now, but are hoping to get a final decision between all parties Real Soon Now.

Which you will note on the screenshojt is AFTER the support monkey posted thier ill informed information. Also on the steam forums you will see later people mentioning that thier requests to steam recieved conflicting information.
See also later in the thread http://forums.steamp...55&postcount=87
I want to see preload as much as anyone and hopefully it will happen. But lets at least get our timelines straight here and make sure people have the right information. Pulling the one post you see in the thread that you like and reposting it elsewhere is dishonest.

Well, for Steam's sake they'd be ridiculoulsy amiss if they DIDN'T offer pre-load. D2D is offering pre-loading in the US and UK.
I, for one, am holding off. I use both services, but would prefer to use Steam. HOWEVER, if they don't make a decision by Sunday 10AM Eastern time, I'll be buying from D2D and starting my pre-load right away!
