The loading times seem to have been significantly decreased, but now the audio issues become almost unbearable. Before this patch I only had audio issues in 2-3% of the time, now it is 20-30% of conversations that get cut off. The game also seems to run very slow and has framerate-drops when facing multiple enemies. Before the patch I didn't notice these performance issues.

I know that BioWare is working on a new patch regarding the Kaidan/Council error. But will it revert the performance back to normal? I hope that these problems are somehow related but if not are we stuck with this?

So in short: Before 1.03: Almost no issues - After 1.03 Extreme audio hickups and framerate-issues. (Download Version)

For me the audio issues seems a bit inconsistent, although Freedom's Progress and Tutchanka is the same every time. The cut-off on conversations is the most inconsistent part.

I haven't been able to find any official response from Bioware. Are they on top of this? :)

I havn't noticed any huge difference. Played through the game once before the latest patch, and about 4/5th of my second time through the game was after the latest patch. Cut-off conversations seems random, and happen rather often (seems like 30-40% of all conversations, but it's probably 10% or so). Unsynced audio in cutscenes are pretty much standard however. It's actually more noticable when it doesn't happen. The second time I noticed that the whole shadow broker quest seems to be completely free of this problem.

Pretty much every scene in the game is out of sync for me now...

I just finished a 38 hour run. It happened only a dozen or so times throughout the entire game - so much so that it's very noticeable when it does occur. It's only the last half of the last word so not really a concern for me.

Given how this is affecting different people to totally different degrees, it's probably something that's really tough to track down,

Ok I have been playing for a while now and the OUT OF SYNC AUDIO by 3 seconds almost and ABRUPT VOICE CUT is seriously getting on my nerves especially because half the game is made of cutscenes. Its getting worse as the game progresses and really detracts from the whole experience...Jesse mate I know you are paying attention to the PS3 version can you please acknowledge this issue and tell us if we can expect a fix soon? There are many complaints on the forum about this issue already and so far we have heard nothing regarding it. Thanks

These issues are a well known problem, though neither Jesse nor any other member from the Bioware team have confirmed their existence. Please Bioware try to do something with the audio because it is so frustrating. Jesse must tell us if the devs are trying to solve the audio issues. We must not left in the dark any more.

Before the first patch the only Audio problems that I encountered were that occassionally teh last word of dialogue in a sentence would get cut of every now and again. After the patch I now find that there are massive parts of the game where I don't hear any spoken dialogue at all. Most of the Shepard's and EDI's dialogue once you pass through teh Omega 4 Relay ( and start the Suicide Mission ) is missing for example.

I've also had audio out of sync, the unveiling of the new Normandy feels wrong with the music like it plays too soon and conversations get cut off, but when a squadmate was saying something I went to change weapons and when I came out of the weapon wheel, it cut that squadmates dialog out completely.

So if I would play without any of the patches then the audio is not out of sync?

I believe there are still a handful of sync issues without the patches, but at least it wouldn't be like it is now...

The sound is out of sync in the unpatched game too, there's less dialogue cutting off though. As mentioned, if you play unpatched then your setting yourself up for the data corruption glitch. The game is broken either way you play it, so pick your poison.

it is not fair!!

why do ps3 owners have to settle?!?!
I paid 60$ on this!:(

I'm really dissappointed from BioWare...but they already got our money... ( I can't believe that Dragon Age Origins that I was so amazed from is from the same company...:crying:)

hopefully BioWare will fix this issue in their late april patch...:?

Dragon Age Origins for the PS3 wasn't without it's issues either, atleast not for me. While I agree that we got seriously shafted with this game, I just don't care anymore. Fix it, or not, I've learned and when ME3 arrives, I won't read or watch any reviews, I'll come in here and find out how the game really performs on the PS3.

well I played it on my PC , if they could ruin that beautiful game on the PS3 version it says something about them...

just to notice , I really loved ME2

I could face the save corruption problem , I could face the flying Shepard.

but I just can't face the audio problem and especially the Mass Effect Genesis problem...

when the story is that deep you just can't play it like that...

that's why I'm not willing to play ME2 anymore , and not willing to pay more 60$ on ME3...

and you are absolutly right , IGN and GAMESPOT fooled me but not anymore...

funny to see BioWare is not even responding us

If they're not going to fix the problems, then atleast acknowledge their existence and tell us that your sorry. An assurance that ME3 won't end up like this would be nice too.

I really don't like playing with subs on (I spend more time looking at the words than I do at the people speaking them), but with this game, it seems almost necessary (I can't remember every single line of dialogue in the game, so if something gets cut off and I don't have subs on, I won't know what they're saying if I can't figure it out from the rest of the line). And from paying attention for when dialogue gets cut off, it's because the characters start talking and then a second later, the dialogue actually starts. The dialogue stops when the character stops talking, even if all the lines were not said, resulting in cut off dialogue (so I can at least tell when it's going to happen when characters are talking to each other). Action cutscenes that are off appear to act the same way (like the infamous Freedom's Progress mech).

Also, another curious issue with audio: when you're riding the shuttle to the Shadow Broker's lair, you should still be able to hear the storm noises from outside (you do on the PC version). Instead, you just hear your characters talking and get this creepy sort of sound vacuum. That one bugs me more than the lack of Tuchanka landing sounds (despite me going to the latter more).

I do really love the game and I'm glad I have it. Just wish it didn't have these issues :(
