Excuse me but all my favourite games are on the PS3, I couldn't care less about the Xbox360 which isn't app aling to me. I want my game to work perfectly fine on my PS3 and nothing else. That's all I'm asking.

Agreed!

When I first bought ME2, I was playing on an original 60gb fat system. More than half-way through the game my PS3 died and I replaced it with a 160gb slim. Both systems had the exact same audio sync problems. I am in Canada and would love to drop by BioWare to showcase this frustrating bug, unfortunately I'm in Ontario and cannot simply stop by their Edmonton office.

The whole situation has become humiliating, ridiculous, silly and vapid. It is obvious that Bioware will never acknowledge any issue that needs a lot of work/effort in order to be fixed (such as audio issue). The previous patches fixed the relatively easy issues (bugs that just needed debugging such as the Genesis bug and the New Game + bug) but performance issues like the ME2 audio issue are much more difficult and need time and effort, something that Bioware hasn't (since ME3 is in development). I would prefer an acknowledgement from Bioware (even if the idea of a new patch is rejected as unprofitable and injurious) to this mockery! I am surprised that there are still some people that hope for a potential fix and continue to participate in this comedy. I gave a lengthy fight in the past for an audio fix, then realized whats going on and finally sold my copy. I suggest you do the same and move forward (as Bioware has already moved forward). ME2 is unfortunately history. End of story guys. Don't lose your time here any more.

There has been discussion of having a local player experiencing the problem bring their machine into the office to replicate the issue. Unfortunately, if we still cannot reproduce the issue locally, it might indicate that that particular machine may be the source of the problem.

This is the last time I am writing here. Of course Bioware won't respond in this as an acknowledgment of the audio issue from their side means that a new patch must come out (and of course they don't want that do they). Proof of the out of sync audio in the ps3 ME2 is two videos in youtube. Thanks to the guy that uploaded it (dimsumboy22). The guy has also some INTERESTING comments underneath the videos. The addresses of these videos are the following : (for Mass Effect 2 Audio Issues) and (for Mass Effect 2 Audio Issues 2). Oh and by the way if you read the comments of the second video, it is clear that this is the PS3 version. Kisses.

Listen closely, because I've said this before. I understand and acknowledge that you are having this issue, and I believe you when you ssay this issue exists. There is, as far as I know, no agreement or contract that obligates BioWare to fix an issue they have acknowledged, nor is there anyting forcing us to create a patch for one of our products. It is unfortunate that some people are having some pretty significant problems with their game, but that will always be the case with videogames. Someone, somewhere, will always be experiencing big problems with their game. Software is not perfect, and will not work 100% of the time for 100% of the people who purchase it. This is, unfortunately, the reality of creating huge collaborative software products consisting of tens, if not hundreds of thousands of lines of code and thousands of different assets all working together in one sometimes very fragile apparatus.

Again, I believe you and I acknowledge that some people are experiencing this issue. That was never in doubt, nor have I ever denied it.

Stanley Woo, I appreciate the fact that you do acknowledge the fact that we're having audio issues. It's weird that Bioware is having trouble replicating the problem. For me, the audio wasn't distractingly bad until the mech attack on Freedom's Progress. For a lot of my conversation scenes you could see that the lip syncing wasn't matching with the audio because of an audio lag, causing dialogue to get cut short. The game is AWESOME, but an audio fix would make the game PERFECT. Again, thanks for responding.

I do appreciate that Bioware is at least responding to this in some way. I can live with the audio bug being in the game (although it does take the immersion away) as the game is great even with the audio problem.

But I really really really hope there isn't a similar problem with ME3 when it get's released as it will dampen the experience.

I know that software development is difficult and I could certainly understand this issue being difficult to track down across different PC setups but with the relatively standard hardware of a PS3 should this not be more easily trace?

That's kind of what I've been saying, but coming from the other side of the argument--if this were an easily found or very common problem, we likely would have found it back when we were looking for it. It sucks, I know, but you'd be surprised at how many bugs I've found over the years that no one could reproduce on another machine.

As with all of our other releases, we will indeed hear from players who are experiencing problems that we may or may not be able to reproduce and/or fix. That is unfortunately the nature of software development and developer forums. It's just that more people feel much more strongly about their videogames than, say, their operating system or their word processor.

But still PS3 games shouldn't have any widespread bugs as Mass Effect had ob their release because the hardware is mostly the same for everyone. It is heartbreaking buying a game day one, only to be hindered by bug after bug. That is why I welcomed the delay on the release of ME3.
Note that some of us have had the audio delay of sound effects during cutscenes  from the beginning...

We have Skyrim, Modern warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and Deus Ex coming so if Mass Effect 3 is plagued by the same audio sync crap I won't give a flying f*** this time. The games coming this fall are AAA high budget games so ME3 will just be overlooked like many average games and bought when its £15 or less.

I disagree. You really need to hang out more on the Apple forums ;-) Or on one of the social networks I've been working for. People invest time and money in software or online services - of course they feel strongly about it.

People expect full value for their $70, and I don't blame them.

Well said my friend! The PS3 version is a big pile of sh*t. BAD visuals, fked up audio sync issues, shockingly bad framerate, horrible textures all over the place... And the game is not even in the top 10 best looking console games this generation which is laughable given the amount of performance issues. If the game really pushed current hardware to its limits then it would make sense. All it comes down to it seems is a quick cash grab and laziness. And many of us unfortunately were stupid enough to buy this inferior unfinished product falling prey to the fake advertising 'Mass Effect 2 on PS3 is the most complete and best version yet running on Mass Effect 3 engine blabla'. What a massive con!

Hear, hear!

I wish I bought an xbox sooner. It's a completely different experience. Almost seems like a ploy from Microsoft ;-)

PS3 games tend to be better if they were first made in Japan. Just saying.

I don't know about you guys, but I find the audio problem to not be an issue if you play with subtitles on.

yes, you are correct. Sony's exclusive games are very high quality. Just look at Killzone 3! that game has better graphics than any Xbox 360 game ever created. God of War III is stunning as well. Uncharted 2 is a gorgeous game as well.

games that are multi platform never get proper care. Call of Duty looks better on Xbox 360. same as Crysis 2. Even though the PS3 is able to have better graphics, most developers don't take the time to make a better game.

Sony's exclusives are a site to behold! But when multiplatform games come out, the PS3 is shunned 80% of the time.

So Bioware is saying they couldn't replicate the audio issues? Hahahahahahaha! That's great, do you honestly expect me to believe that?
