 DA3 writers' room ~

"All that about the templars, the mages, Tevinter, the qunari, Orlais, the Chantry, the ancient dwarves, the Seekers and Flemeth... screw it. People liked DA:O so much, let's just have another Blight"

"In Dragon Age 3 the player assumes the role of an Orlesian-"

That would be enough to make me cancel a pre-order.

"Mage and Templar fight? Fall of the Chantry? The Qunari? Darkspawn? All red herrings, the TRUE EVIL of ALIEN LYRIUM IDOLS THAT TOTALLY ARE NOT REAPERS is upon us! Only Sandal can save us now!"

I wouldn't mind playing as an Orlesian, I just don't want a new protagonist in DA3. I want to play as Hawke or the Warden again.

Worst case scenario:

1. Flemeth does something completely underwhelming and unassociated with the main plot (like in DA2).
2. None of the characters from the previous two games appear as companions, save a few cameos.
3. You play as a completely new character in a completely new setting.

If they go with the Old God Baby as the new player character or companion. That will be when they have jumped the shark and should stop writing.

And that would be a good excuse for multiplayer too - team Razikale VS team Lusacan

Two? You're not thinking epic enough. We need ALL SEVEN! Yes even the dead ones. Especially the dead ones.
When each one is defeated you must pass progressively more complicated quick time events or you die.

I would be perfectly happy if they stuck us in a whole new situation. Not Hawke and not the warden. (Though most people would hate this.) What I fear if they are not very very careful is having both Hawke and the Warden in the next game. And the convo at the end of the game between Leliana and Cassandra it almost hints at it to me.

Some people have rumored multiplayer being involved and thus allowing a warden, Hawke duo. I wouldn't automatically stomp on this idea but as I said above they'd have to be very very careful in how they worked it out.

The old god baby can't be the PC but he could be companion and love interest seeing a Urthemial was the god of love

And the clue is, you kill one Archdemon and while everyone celebrates you the second swoops down and eats you.

I wouldnt want to actually play 'as' Hawke or the Warden in DA3, that would be one of the 'worst' directions to me. Hawke and the Warden are out there somewhere fighting evil together, like the KOTOR and KOTOR 2 main characters are, theres no reason to actually play as either of them, we should play as someone new who who can help them fight the evil. Playing as Hawke and/or the Warden in a DLC adventure, I'd be all for that, that would be cool. But for a whole new game I'd want a whole new character. Bring back some of the old characters as teammates absolutely, Cassandra, Bethany, Varric, Shale, they'd all make awesome teammates for DA3. But I want their leader to be somebody all new. Creating new characters is one of the most fun parts of the game after all :) .

He'll be too busy staring at the mirror and adjusting his hair while trying on his assorted colognes and plucking his eyebrows.

For some reason he reminds me of Zevran now
