Oh well there goes that idea. I still hope the Old god baby is a companion

He'll be too busy staring at the mirror and adjusting his hair while trying on his assorted colognes and plucking his eyebrows.

Come to think of it. Part of me wouldn't mind the OGB if he goes all Jersey Shore. Game could use more comedy.

2. None of the characters from the previous two games appear as companions, save a few cameos.

And I'd like an actual sequel, personally. Spinoffs can remain so.

For some reason he reminds me of Zevran now

I imagine the Urthemiel-spawn would be Zevran times 500.
He'd make a Toreador look like an unkempt slob.
Don't get me wrong I think this would be awesome.

I think they should let you use both your DAO Warden and Hawke together in DA3, thats the first thing that popped into my head after finishing the game. They could even make it so you could choose which one you want as the protagonist...if people prefer the Warden, then you could still have the dialogue wheel from DA2, except the Warden's responses are shown on screen, like in DAO, and since Hawke talks anyway, he will talk as a Companion. If players prefer a voiced protagonist, then they can choose Hawke, and it will be similar to DA2, except the Warden Companion will have voiced lines. Shouldnt really matter since the only people that complain about the voiced Hawke would be playing the other way with their Warden anyway.

So, there you can have the 2 protagonists in the same party, which also could help with setting up your party, since you can customize it better if you think you need a certain class.

The cross-over thing with Mass Effect.

The Thedas world goes boom and it's up to Shepard to save the refugees and bring them to the Citadel, right after saving humanity from the Reapers. o_o

Warden + Hawke + your pick of previous games' companions with a set character-pool size (as in you can't recruit all of them) would be fine to me. I probably won't get DA3 if it's a new main character, I'll just read about it and watch a couple of youtube vids, unless it actually lets you use the more interesting previous companions.

If it was given a longer work period (as in wasn't rushed and contained a less funnelled plot) and carried over companions and the decisions you made from the previous game, this wouldn't upset me.

EDIT: When I say wouldn't upset me, I meant would make me dance.

I would imagine they could set it up like ME2 import...you can either use the original look you had (or the closest one using a newer character creator like in ME2), or can make an entirely new one. But it would be the backstory, choices and spec thats the most important anyway.

"Dragon Age 3: The missing years at the end we didn't talk about for no other reason than to sell you this sequel to explain why"

I hope they just move on, leave DA 2 dead like they obviously wanted DAO to be in terms of how much it actually impacted DA 2. If it's Hawke again and they just are filling in the few years of him on the run only to have him vanish at the end I'll never buy Bioware again.

DA III is actually a prequel to the other two parts. Since we all know there is no true good and evil, and everything is truly a matter of perspective, it tells the story out of the perspective of one Genlock (male or female). It describes how the blight was just a big misunderstanding, how the darkspawn failed every communication due to the difference in their vocalization organs.

You try to avoid the hostilities and mediate between the faction. Take acts of great heroeism to avoid the war with the surface dwellers. Until you suddenly, randomly and without any actual meaning get slaughtered by the warden trying to reach the surface beings' camp through the tower of Ishal.

It depicts the darkspawn as an oppressed minority for the language deficite and their - to other races - unappealing looks, of racism and oppression of the poor dark spawn and their noble, generous lords, the archdemon. *sniff*

The title is "#123" because you're the 123rd darkspawn slain mindlessly by the warden.

That would be enough to make me cancel a pre-order.

Funny that you actually bought dragon age awakenings, because the default warden-commander IS orlesian.

Another "Dun Dun Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! God like hero rises against all odds and kills an ancient eviiiiiiiiiiil!" formula made into a dish ripping off Tolkien and pretty much every "epic" cliché there is.

I can see DA3 taking place 10 years after DA2 though. I hope not, but I can see it.

Or how about a Bioware Mesh up: It turns out that the champion is a child of Baal, the dead god of Murder. Bethany and Carver were childs of Baal as well, but that didn't really die, they just figured it before you and retreated to form a plan to TAKE OVER THE WORLD. To unspell the curse of the being a half-dead-god, you need to find the four whasterdavian creatures, a Nymph (also called "The Consort"), a mind flayer ("Darth Malak") ... and I forgot about the other two. Anyway. In the end all those creatures lead you two the Star Forge, where you become truly human again. Then Bethany comes around the corner and kills you. The end.

Isn't it sad that the ones trying to justify why they could be a LI is that the Eluvians is possibly a time machine. Like 15-18 wouldn't make it more creapy.

btw sorry, Time Warp happened to playing again from Rocky Horror Picture Show while I was reading this thread.
