Actually disregard everything I've said about the OGB because I just remembered he's a choice. unless Morrigan somehow forced Alistair to have sex with her.

If they go with the Old God Baby as the new player character or companion. That will be when they have jumped the shark and should stop writing.

The old god baby can't be the PC but he could be companion and love interest seeing a Urthemial was the god of love

He's *ten.*

Except that non-ritually impregnated Morrigan is either just that; still impregnated by the Warden, just without the ritual, or she finds another Warden in Orlais.

Ah the "Orlesian Warden", the biggest handwaver in the Dragon Age series.

continuing as Hawke would be the worst for me.

Bringing back the old Warden... it appeals, in some ways, but at the same time I really like that by having a pre-determined character name and identity in Hawke, people were able to address her/him by name. It's a small thing, but going through the whole game with people going "Warden, blahblahblah" would be kind of meh meh meh after having had the specificity of Hawke.

That said, I really hope they turn away from this ****ty one-location model they used in DA2. DA:O was so much broader in scope, it was just delicious.

I agree continuing Hawke would be the worst. I would literally prefer to play as any other character (Sandal, random merchant) than Hawke.

I wouldn't mind being my Warden again or the "god child" but I would prefer a new protagonist.

New protagonist, new companions, and a story unrelated to DA:O/DA2 except in the most trivial and peripheral of ways.

You managed to get me to pre-order DA2, Bioware, but I'll be waiting for a price drop in the $20 range if you go that path for DA3, assuming I even pick it up at all.

I for one am really torn about Hawke vs new protagonist. I need to wait until the DA2 story is complete with DLC/EP, etc before I can decide.

Though if it's anything like with Origins, we'll probably know who the DA3 MC is before then anyway xD

Old God Baby is a viable protagonist. Just make him one of the 'origins' of the DA3 hero and bam, there you go.

But IMO I think Bioware is going to leave him as a dangling plotline and NEVER refer back to him. Because that seems to be Bioware's leitmotif : all the choices you THINK are huge are completely meaningless and may as well never happen.

The biggest clue I got that the OGB is not going to amount to anything anyway: In Witch Hunt Morrigan just says, "Well I didn't need it anyway so LOL"

Ugh.

None of the above is happening.
Two words: Zombie Apocalypse
Want proof? Just look at all the characters that could have been dead that are still walking around (Anders, Leliana ect.)
Trust me, I have seen the future of Dragon Age 3, and it is a zombie apocalypse.

Bad ideas?

More Hawke would be a bad idea.

Anything involving the OGB would be a bad idea.

Anything involving a lot of crappy french accents would be a bad idea.

Another framed narrative would be a bad idea.

In DA3, you take on the role of Sandal, an unassuming dwarven enchanter savant....

If I read anything like this, I'll stick a boot up someone's behind at Bioware....

In an ultimate turn of events. The Darkspawn and the demons side with the last surviving mortals to end the zombie invasion only to find that the entire thing was masterminded by Friends of Red Jenny and their leader Sandal!

This. So much. Actually, Sandal having any significance to the plot would make me gnash teeth and tear flesh.

Speaking of zombies...

Bioware, you heard 'em. You screw up DA3, and you'll have a teeth-gnashing, flesh-tearing zombie apocalypse.

I wouldn't mind playing as an Orlesian, I just don't want a new protagonist in DA3. I want to play as Hawke or the Warden again.

Good god, I can't think of anyone I'd want to play as -less- than Hawke in Dragon Age 3.

I think I'd rather play as Elmo wielding a claw hammer than Hawke. **** Hawke.

Sandal & (whutzhisname-wannabe-father) will be there... they were there for DA2, they will be there in DA3... Leliana will be there... she was there in DA:O & DA2... Anders won't (or a small cameo) because he can be killed... Hawke will be there, and so will the Warden... but they will not be the Protagonist... Morrigan and Flemeth will be there... Morrigan and Flemeth will be opposing factors, as will the Warden and Hawke... Hawke not having seen the bad side of Flemeth, Warden being on Morrigan's side (most likely, haven't played witch hunt so I dunno how those endings are)

Templar vs. Mage... Alistair vs. Morrigan?

You are an Antivan Crow who ventures to the Cathedral at Val Royeaux to confront Templer Cullen and retrieve the Lyrium Idol for Zevran, head of the Assassins. After failing your mission, you are demoted to a novice assassin upon return to the Crows. To redeem your previous status, you are sent by the Crows to assassinate nine targets in three different cities. With each kill, you learn there is a connection between your targets; they are all Templars united by Cullen to take control of the Thedas independently from the Circle and the Chantry, although they all claim to pursue a noble goal.

After assassinating all nine targets and discovering that your ninth target was in fact a trap, you confront Cullen in front of King Allistair. You inform Allisatir that Cullen is plotting to betray and kill him, which causes him to encourage a duel to the death between you and Cullen. Allisatir then believes you. Upon dying, Cullen confesses to you that they were not nine, but ten Templars conspiring to take the Lyrium Idol. The tenth being Zevran, who wanted to keep the Lyrium Idol for himself and therefore sent out you to kill the others. Back at the Crows, where Zevran had taken over the minds of the people inside, you manage to defeat and kill him in a duel. The Eluvian Merril was searching for, which located the Lyrium Idol, reveals it is only just one of 28 that are scattered across the world.

In case anyone read that and thought "WTF?" it is the plot synopsis for Assassin's Creed cut and pasted directly from Wikipedia, with some obvious edits.

on topic: medieval remake of ME2 would rate pretty high on this list.
