The game begins as your character enters the newly rebuilt Lothering. With your long hair and military gear you are quickly spotted as an outsider by the overzealous and paranoid Templar commander. He drives you out of town letting his distate for "drifters". You ignore him and head back into town, he arrests you.
Your character stands his ground against the other Templars at the Chantry and is brutalized by the cruel Revered Mother. When the Templars attempt to cut your long, flowing hair, you get a flashback to Ostegar and the horrors you witnessed at the hand of the Darkspawn.
You manage to escape and go in a rampage. In the ensuing manhunt, you kill many Templars and find yourself escaping to the Kokari Wilds. The Templar commander refuses to simply let you go and brings in reinforcements from Denerim.
You use your extensive knowledge of guerrilla tactics to take them on. Eventually they corner you by a cave and use some lyrium dust to blow it up. They think you died.
HOWEVER, you manage to escape through the deep roads and make your way to the Chantry where you find the Templar commander, after a short battle you defeat him but right as you are about to deliver the killing blow, he tells you there is no hope of escaping now.
Then you realize you are surrounded by Templars. The Credits roll.
Wait... that's the plot of Rambo, isn't it?

Also, giving Sandal any kind of important role. He's some kid that Bodhan happened to find in the Deep Roads, and Bodahn just happened to meet the Warden... I don't think it would be wise for them to ignore those random occurances and turn Sandal into a messiah or really anything more than the guy who enchants your stuff. I think they may be taking it in that direction though...

Have the Warden make an appearance early in the game... just to kill him/her off. That crap is very annoying whenever I see it.

Actually, I'd like to see Sandal having an important role. Maybe not as a companion (though I'd personally love that because it would be funny). I mean, this is a kid who took down Hurlocks, Genlocks, Shrieks, 2 Ogres, froze another Ogre, Abominations, Desire Demons, Pride Demons, and Maker knows what else. There's definitely something to be explained here.
If Sandal was a companion, I could just imagine his battle quotes:
Enchantment! - basic attack
Enchantment!! - lands a critical hit
Enchantment? - gets hit by an enemy
Yay! - Victory
Awww - Knocked out
I went potty.... - knocked out

You take the role of a Veteran of the fifth Blight. You were a member of an elite unit of the Ferelden army and you were awarded a medal for your heroic action during the battle of Denerim. You are looking for a friend from your unit but you learn he died from exposure to unrefined lyrium.

Well, First Blood, yes.
And it wouldn't be half as bad as some ideas for DA3
