After the outage, somethings not working right. The DLC Achievements (eg Leliana's song) are always LOCKED when I quit and restart the game. Is there any fix to have this alwasy unlocked as it's very annoying to always load a save game that is near the unlocking of particular DLC Achievements. In my online profile here at Bioware Social Network, those achievements are already unlocked and uploaded for the whole world to see, only the game itself doesn't recognize it.

Suggestions anyone (aside from always reloading and reachieving)

Those achievements reflected online should sync with your player profile. Log in and play for a little bit, then exit the game, then relaunch it. Sometimes it takes a while for those achievements to update.

Some folks have forced achievements to update by renaming, or moving the profile.dap file in the My Documents > Bioware >Dragon Age >Settings folder... I don't recall if it worked, but it may be worth a shot. Just don't delete it in case you need to place it back.

Hi Raen, thanks for the tip, too bad it didnt work :( I'm gonna try to see if I can go around it though.

Now this is what I can see. I am always unauthorized unless I log in. hence these achievements won't appear in the Player Profile option. Once I logged in, the DLC achievements will kick in, but they are all locked, even when it is not shaded, and I've already achieved them in the past as seen here in my profile. Something surely got broken or this is already the case before but I wasn't able to notice it.

Bioware/EA, pls stop griefing your customers. seriously. Please include this bug in your list of things to be fixed. No band-aid fixes please, and no breaking other things to fix other bugs.

Now here's the thing, you said before in the DLC Unauthorized thread that resources were put in DA2 and that's why DA:O patch was delayed. What's stopping you to REPEAT this again for ME3 as I've heard this was announced in Gameinformer?
For now, if I don't find a workaround, I'll just reload and reachieve but this needs to be fixed really soon, it gets tiring to do this ALL the time.

PS: I hope it's true that they will put more eyes in this forum. It'll really help not only me, but as all the other players know EA customer support is mostly clueless. It makes me think they don't even play the game at all.

This sounds similar to a couple of other recent posts.  Could you reply with your hardware info, version of Windows, and most importantly what version/where you bought the game from?

Thanks,

RI

Let's see.

Intel Core2Duo 2.93 Ghz
4 GB RAM
Nvidia 9800GT
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (yes, I believe I saw a thread that this OS isn't actually supported)
Dragon Age UE from my local retailer

Okay... thanks for posting the info.  No, I don't think it is a problem because of Win 7... while it's not officially supported, a lot of people use it, myself included.

Since you have the retail discs, the easiest thing to try is to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game.  You can back up your characters from My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > Characters.  Once you uninstall, reboot and use something like CCCleaner to make sure the registry keys for Dragon Age are cleaned up, then install the program again.  Reboot again, launch the game, and log in before copying your characters back into the folder.

I did that a few months back when doing a reinstall, and it allowed my achievements to sync with the game.  I tested it by creating a new character before copying the old ones back... the achievement-based items indeed appeared.  IIRC, it did take a little while for the profile to sync.

I actually used digital download from UE to avoid putting the disc everytime to play, but I'll try to reinstall again.

Hi Raen, should the sync be done automatically? Seems like my reinstall didn't work. They're still locked and the same old problem. Don't know how long it takes to sync though.

damn.

Wow... that's a pain.  Sorry you're still having trouble.  To the best of my limited knowledge, the profile.dap file should sync automatically online, assuming you're logged in.  Character updates online sometimes requires a few hours of gameplay... I can't confirm that the sync will happen just sitting in the lobby/main menu.

You may also want to check out the social network forum... see if there is any additional wisdom there:

The only other theory I can operate on is that for some reason, the achievements show up online but were not synchronized properliy with "the cloud", and so they cannot be re-synched with your PC.  Wish I had a better answer!

I think it's something with the game itself when taking data from the cloud though. I noticed that when I retake the achievement, it will become "Unlocked and Uploaded" with a date of 4/22 (today). If I exited and relaunched the game, the date reverts back to the original date when I got the achievement (4/8 or 4/2). I'll look around but won't hold my breath :)

My mobo took a dump and I've gotten back online and wanted to start a DA:O playthrough, but I have the same issue. My achievements are there, but my items, namely the battledress of the provocateur won't show up in my inventory. The achievement is lighted up, but locked even though I've played through Leliana's Song. Hope I don't have to do it all over again.

For me, I have to unlock them again, and save the character once I have seen the items in the inventory. So if you want to load the items, just get the achievements again, and load all your chars and save once you see the battledress.

Do you have leliana on your DA online profile, as well as the achievements - i think there is only a reward for getting the full armour.

I still have mine, as well as the sword from Darkspawn chronicles.

I have it and unlocked in the online profile. only the game is confused whether it's locked or not and result is items are locked unless you have a save game that has those items already. If I tried to make a new char every time the game is restarted, I'd have to unlock the achievements again to make them appear and then save.
