Aboard the Normandy SR2 with Miranda, Legion, Garrus, and Liara patrolling the Galaxy and making no one takes a step out of line as he leads his own personal security force outside Citadel jurisdiction.
Tanya Shep
On Illium with Liara raising a bunch of little blue children.

Upon defeating the Reapers the greatest known threat in the Galaxy Shepard finds himself waking up in the Normandy SR1's med bay surrounded by ashley, kaiden, chakwas, and anderson.
Shep: Oww my head, what happened?
Ash: The beacon on Eden Prime knocked you out cold sir
Kaiden: We dragged you back to the ship
Shep: Wait...no..that can't be.
Anderson: Whats the matter Shepard?
Shep: Well I had the strangest dream, we were fighting the Reapers, and there was quarians, asari, turians, Martin Sheen...and you were there...and you ash...you too Kaiden. Oh boy golly it sure was a long and awful dream but now i am here...gee..there is no place like the normandy.
End scene.
Most. Epic. Scene. EVAR!!
My Shep would probably continue to serve as a Spectre for a few years, then retire and go live back on Earth with Ashley. They'd get married and have a son, whom would have the father my Shep (being an Earthborn) never had.

My current Shepard will probably become the foremost defender of peace and galactic civilization. Dealing with all hostile threats as swiftly and effectively and after that he will probably get a political career or seize power of a chaotic and damaged galaxy. Uniting it. He will definetly get a lot of little Shepards to keep the dynasty alive.

I'm surprised that so few of you plan on using or abusing Shepard's future role as the saviour of all contemporary civilizations and all civilizations in the future. Basically saved all sentient organic life in the entire galaxy forever. My Shepard would even possibly have united the entire galaxy to do so. If that doesn't qualify for a position as president, councillor or even galactic leader, I don't know what does. Sure he's young and not all that politically savvy at times, but he has a lot of years in front of him.

Actually, since Paragons are diplomats, they're able to just instinctively understand inter=species politics and relations... minus the political bulls***.

That's why I said "at times". He can be intelligent and observant. But his dealing with the council in ME1 was just foolish and he tends to be more of a man of action than a man of diplomacy and politics regardless of allignment. But it's hard to say, since we've only seen him deal politically with the case of the Reapers, which is rather extreme.
In any event, my Shepard at least, will become more realistic about how politics and the world works as he gets older.

So lets assume you fight the Reapers and win. After all is said and done where does your Shep choose to settle down?
For my main Shep it would be Terra Nova. What about you?
Permanent Home: San Francisco
Retreat Home: Citadel Loft on the Presidium and a Condo on Illium

And one day finally finding some where to settle down.
Ontarom - that is where my main Shep plans to settle down with Gianna, unfortunately its moon's orbit is a bit unstable an it will crash into the planet in the near future. But if he saves the Galaxy, he might be able to gather enough resources to correct that flaw - who can deny the savior of the Galaxy!
See you there!
Look for Shepard & Parasini - Private Investigators - No job ist too hard for us - We operate in the whole Galaxy!
Oh noes! I didn't know about the moon crashing (Yeah I don't bother reading the planet description).
But wait won't more than 1 Shep on the planet be a paradox ? Gah I've got to stop looking into these things so much!

"I don't know. Marriage, old age, and a lot of little blue children" At the very least its on Shepard's mind. And for those who romanced Ashley do you think she wouldn't want kids? Shes big on family and would want her line to continue on.Akizora wrote...
Shepard, settle down? What? I'm sorry, those words are not in Shepards vocabulary! He'll find new enemies to fight, new reporters to punch, new Krogans to greet and new bucketheads to romance.
So yeah I think shep could have kids and still lead a soldier's life. You guys make it sound as if Shep would be on duty all the time. Thats not how military's work. They don't always have their people on tours of duty.

Shep2: he will be very dead
Shep3: [REDACTED BY SHADOW BROKER]
Shep4: he's not retiring for a while
Shep5: supreme overlord of cerberus, if not the galaxy
Shep6: on the lamb
Shep7: I've yet to decide...
Shep8 (current): whereever he wants
