I'd suppose he'll remain active ready for another mission, of course...unless run away with his love interest.

2. Run around with Garrus and continue to be awesome and save people. Because she's the goddamn Savior of the Galaxy.

I don't mean retiring in the traditional sense. I mean if you had to pick a place to settle down for a bit. You know raise a family and that jazz.

Maybe I should have asked where would your Shep choose to raise his/her kids. Yes that would have been more accurate.

So yeah to raise sheps kids I'm stuck between Terra Nova and Bekenstein. Bekenstein seems like a better place for Miranda and Shep than Liara and Shep... And I'm still not sure who I want to hook up with. lol
Why are you into raising family and kids so much?
In any case, I don't think a man like Shepard can actually settle down or "raise a family" and stick with it in the long term. A man with a goal 'as-big-as-the-galaxy' can never really assume the role of a family-man.
To elaborate, I would like to quote a line from 'Notes from the Underground' by Fyodor Dostoevsky:
"....being too well aware is an illness, a real proper illness."

Nothing against those who do, but I don't want *my* Shepard to go on to live a boring life. He should be a hero for life.
Once there is nothing else for him to fight, he might as well be dead.

When she gets too old, maybe she'll train students in ROTC or something.

DIE FOR YOUR COMRADES AND SAKE OF EARTH ( Everyones option)
If shepard going to go ... he have to to it in heroic way. Garrus would have to say the final speach.
Become the vilian somehow ? Like assuming Issusive mans position ? ( Miranda option)
Retire from adventure to be with someone ( Liaras option)
Become Admiral ? (Ash option)
But truth be told. we know to litle about game to think of something epic

My Shep deserves a good shower after what he's been through
FemShep took at least one in ME2 if she went for Garrus o_O
My colonist Shep would... Uh, create a fundation? To support colonization? Travel around the galaxy, helping humans to settle on other worlds? Killing big ugly bugs that ruin their straw houses?
I have no idea.
