There may be some unanswered questions, sure, but in my opinion: there isn't enough unanswered questions for an entire game.

How I'd "like them to do it" is that they set the game in a whole different place, for starters. Orlais, Tevinter [hell yes], etc.

I wouldn't mind expansions so long as they live up to previous bioware expansions... meaning Throne of Bhaal. If it's anything like Warden's Keep, then I don't really have no idea. I -could- picture an 'expansion' covering what happens to Morrigan's kid'n stuff. Other than, I have no idea what else can be done to build on the current game's campaign.

I have no idea which they'll do for Dragon Age. Probably not a continuation, but within the same universe, like KotOR 2 and NWN 2. Fantasy epics don't really lend themselves into sequelling well. I mean, what options do you really have? Hunting down the enemy you already defeated? That's epic... Maybe branch off into superheroing? you're powerful enough

The Warden:Alright, I killed the archdemon and saved the world, I'm a revered hero and have my own land and title, I have a grand place for the Grey Wardens to rebuild and another few centuries before they find another Old God to corrupt... hey! those ninjas are stealing that old man's diamonds!
Old Man: Gimme back my diamonds!

Things to consider: as you mention not likly to see another blight in this age, so the nomer of 'Dragon Age' would be troubling :).  I think there is a good chance we'd see the direction of a sequel not necessarily being focused on the Blight [and thus the Wardens].  Although there is also the possibility that this blight is not as over as we believe.  I'm a bit mixedo n that possibility, while the blight was declared on the surface in 9:30, the dwarves knew it was coming in 9:13, so the 'brevity' of this Blight may simply  be a disconnect with the lore in the timeline versus what the surface knows 'now'.

But in all, it's not necessary that the sequel/expansion/whatever actually involve the blight [or the Wardens for that matter].

I would imagine that what we can expect are more adventures you can do with your party that remains at the camp when you finish, there's that note about the adventure not being over that you get and the explanation that your further adventures will take place before the final battle. I take this to mean we will have more quests with the current characters and when that is all done it will be time for the 2nd in the series, which I suspect will have all new characters. I don't know why, but I suspect this series would have all new characters in each new game.

Yeah I got that impression as well despite the few unanswered questions that why I said if.

Sure the future sequels don't need to have a blight, but given that there are what 2 old gods yet to be unearthed by the darkspawn, why not speed things along and have 2 blights at once! And whats to say that the blight wouldn't be drawn to the power of Morrigan's Old God Baby?

So those seem a bit ridiculous but the writers could truly go any where with the sequel given the freedom they have since its their own IP and they created such a huge, fleshed out world that still has tons of unknowns.

It has already been said that there will be both large and small DLC. Whole campaigns was one term used. I am far too lazy to dig that up but it was in an interview just before release.

Personally I am just waiting for horse armor.

Personally, I hope "The Maker" casts her gaze apon Bioware and inspires them to make a couple of expansions. I know they are busy working on an mmo so I hope they will have time to make a couple of expansions.

I would like to see a major expansion that follows up on the Morrigan/Flemeth situation but I would expect that we would get a new game for the next blight which should take place many years after this game.

Yes but these DLC large and small will all take place "Before" the final battle if I'm not mistaken so that's not really a continuation just an add on.

I believe that some of the DLC will take place after the main storyline of the game. For instance, wrapping some of the darkspawn things up in other countries like Orlais. Most likely the whole team was working on Origins and future titles (like #2) at the same time. If you're working on them simultaneously then you can make sure that different choices and things from the first game tie together seamlessly with the sequel. Considering that the title of the game in and of itself claims it to be a "beginning" of the story, I believe that when the sequel does come out that it will be direct and allow you to port in your character like ME2 is going to do. The end of the game even says something along the lines of "This is the end of this tale but the world has not seen the last of PC....". Bioware loves to get its gamers really emotionally invested in creating these characters and really being able to make the gaming experience your own. So unless your character died at the end of this game, I believe you'll be able to play as your character in a future sequel.

As for the actual question at hand, I'd love to see expansions of the current storyline or a direct full-game sequel of it.

I think somone already said DLC wasn't going to take place after the main story line.  I'd like there to be but if it's already confirmed.

I haven't heard anything official regarding the DLC except that they have at least 2 years worth planned and they range from things as small as item packs to whole campaigns.

I'm hoping for an expansion, starting with a fresh character in a new land. The Grey Warden's story, in my opinion, is finished. They can't screw over all the people that chose to have their character die, and I think going with a cannon will make many upset (although I suppose they will have to eventually, for things like who is king, even if the next game is in a separate land). The Grey Warden served his purpose and either died or defeated a blight heroically.

As for the next 2 blights, please no. We fought a bunch of darkspawn, killed an archdemon, repeating that or omg blight number 2 + random plot twist would be extremely boring and repetitive. In the expansion though, I'd like my new character to meet up with at least a few of the older characters, and we can continue to see the legacy the Grey Warden left, even after he is finished.

I read that, what I meant was that I hadn't hear anything official, ie; Bioware hasn't made an official statement saying that the DLC will all take place before the final battle.

Well if it says it in the game it's a pretty safe bet.  But reguardless you're right they really should get around to announcing that.

it is not hard to imagine in a sequel there could be an atton like conversation where you discuss history (i.e. your experiences in the original) to set the stage, who, if anyone, made the sacrifice, who had the throne, uh which allies worked together at denerim  (werewolves/elves, harrowmont/bhalens men etc.) though i'd expect expansions first which may well ask you to load your save game just as TotSC and ToB did even if you're playing a new character from scratch iy'll know exactly how the world is supposed to look

Hmm I will have to load it and see. Boyfriend's been on Xbox playing CoD and Assassin's Creed so I haven't had much time to play since I beat it. I'll definitely check it out tomorrow morning.

it's just a loading screen announcement saying you can still play premium content but it will all take place before the final battle (which i guess you cannot repeat) and there is nowhere to go in the world other than the camp (morrigan-less in my case) and dlc places
