From either pure cold damage weapon or just +cold damage weapon?
Has anyone experienced a target going BRITTLE

Not as far as I recall, and I've used cold staves/bloom rather extensively.

Nope, The only thing that can trigger a combo status effect is specific abilities.
You can freeze a target, as a genetic effect, by doing a bunch of cold damage, but it isn't the same.

Thanks, but I did not mean I want this basic mechanic to be explained to me
I know perfectly well how it should function, trust me.
I have my reasons for asking this weird question, though.

I don't remember a single time an enemy went brittle from a cold damage weapon, and I played the whole of act 3 of my last run as a Bloom warrior. Frozen, yes (and lots of that), but as far as I remember, not brittle.

That *is* a weird question coming from you, though. Care to share those reasons?

I've actually wondered myself if a mage with Elemental Mastery could BRITTLE targets with a cold staff. My elementalist is still a lowbie, but seeing how often he freezes critters/normals with Apostate's Courage, I'm starting to get curious.

I have seen enemies turn icey using an ice-stick, but that's as far as it went.

No, they only freeze. Why do you want to know anyway? o.O

I have observed enemies turning BRITTLE twice using Righteous Rain (it's a unique +cold dmg bow no one uses, in case you wonder). Was testing something unrelated as a solo archer. I'll need to test it thoroughly, but it's probably a very specific weapon-related glitch.

I've used it with Sebastian. You get it from the first Varterral, right?
If that's a glitch, that sure is a nice one!

Huh... that's pretty cool actually. I guess if it's a glitch, it's not so cool that it got through testing, but it sounds like an interesting and very useful side-effect.
