Fan 1: Dear lord Mass Effect 2 is the most poorly written game of ALL TIME. Bioware you should be ashamed of the PLOTHOLEPLOTHOLEPLOTHOLEPLOTHOLE and RETCONRETCONRETCONRETCON filled game you've made. I have lost faith with you for this blatantly consolized game. Mass Effect 1 was vastly superior.

Fan 2: Um, why did you put so many plot holes and retcons into your post? And can you give an example?

Fan 1: I have PLOTHOLE bound to F1 and RETCON bound to F2. That's one thing that makes PC gaming so superior, you can map your buttons to whatever you want. And the worst, most glaring PLOTHOLE in the entire game was definitely Legion. I mean, the thing stared at you the entire time you talk to it.

Fan 2: What plot hole? There was no plot hole in any of Legion's conversations.

Fan 1: The Giant Freaking hole in its chest man! Can't you see the size of that plot hole?! He even mentions it!

Fan 2: Wha... I don't even. Do you even know what a plot hole-

Fan 1: Don't question my intelligence bro. And before you ask in your snide text-based tone I do know what a RETCON is. The worst one of those is definitely the Mako. That thing got RETCONNED worse than anything else.

Fan 2: Huh? That wasn't a retcon. Joker's condition was a retcon, and how did you type RETCONNED if the present tense is the one you mapped?

Fan 1: I've also mapped the present, past, and future tenses of both PLOTHOLE and RETCON to the various Function keys. PC>>>>>>Consoles bro.

Fan 2: Dude, both of your examples are wrong. What about the plot hole in Mass Effect 1 where Saren was studying indoctrination? That was pretty big.

Fan 1: Whatchatalkinabout Fan 2? That wasn't a plot hole. That was just a small inconsistency in the story that was central to the flow of the plot.

Fan 2:..................

Fan 1: I should go.

Thus ends my satirical analysis of the two major camps on the forums.

Feel free to add more but keep it light. This isn't a bashing thread but a satire thread. I've already poked fun at myself but only a true forumite could determine which it was...

I agree the average discussion tends to dissolve in two camps quickly bickering at each other, I however do not concur with the depiction of used arguments. No matter which point people are feeling compelled to defend or convice others from, most posts in here actually possess a certain amount of ingenuity in presenting their points to the point in which looking up discussion one would initially not be interested in is worth doing anyway just to see what ideas people can come up with.

You are not giving these boards their due as they deserve. Even if people are rambling, mostly they are rambling magnificiently!

It's not supposed to be a serious analysis or a comprehensive breakdown of both camps. It's just supposed to poke fun at both sides' strongly held convictions (some that I agree with) and lighten the mood a bit.

Most of the arguments are always so serious and in some cases get quite heated. I may suck at satire as it isn't something I generally use but I feel the basic gist of my intentions is accomplished.

I know. So did ME1. Point is we should all just chill a bit (myself included).

Also, while ME2 does have plotholes, I intended to show that not everything labeled as such was actually a plot hole but again, it seems I've failed.

I actually think its a pretty accurate portrayal for a good number of threads on this forum. NOTE: I do not think all critics are this nonsensical. Some simply don't like the game or aspects of the game and give rational reasons for it, even if I don't share their opinion. However, there are a few like this. I just wish I knew whether we were being trolled or they're insane.
