If DA2 is a "better character centric story" than ME2, it's only because that's all DA2 had going for it... it was the story of Hawke and his handful of compatriots. No other story development took place.

ME2 is not a character centric story. Agreed. The breadth of ME2 is far greater. And yet I still know more about Kasumi and Zaeed than I do about Merrill and Fenris.

lol
And I find it funny that some people claim kaidan had no personality.

Reasonable criticism should help improve.

Recently there were details of Mass Effect 3 and this information gives me hope.

I'm worried about the music. Spirit of Mass Effect is music, for me, first of all is the music from Mass Effect 1.

I am very interested to know motives and origins of the Reapers. For me it's important, because many times I've seen as a one hero of all rescues, but very few stories in which the enemy has reasonable and logical reasons.
I'm waiting something that will make me think, made me a different way to look at the course of events.

For me, music and the story is most important.

I like the "What we want for ME4" section.

Mass Effect = ORIGINS FTW...

-let us select race, gender & background(different depending the race)

- Also different voiceover, depending gender and race

example=humans, asari, salarian, quarians and turians select from 7 male(asari not) and 7 female voices;
Krogan/Batarians select from 3 different tone voices...

I don't think you realise just how much resources having 2 voiced protaganists costs let alone 14.

Ok make it with 3 different for each gender. Total of 6.

Krogan and Batarians have a completely different voice than the rest for sure.

While Asari and Turians could share voice cuz they speak just like humans..and salarians and quarians have a little accent, but not a big deal... Kal´Reegar sounds completely human..

I have a better discussion topic.

Will game journalism continue to be that bad for years to come?

EDIT:
Opinions stated as facts, unprofessional tone, lack of knowledge on discussion topic.

This is an article that belongs to BSN,

not a gaming site.

Like it or not the vast majority of people who played ME2 loved it, many don't give a crap about RPG elements, although some of course do. So who do you want Bioware to please? The group that will give them the most money (because its a business, and that's the purpose of a business) or a core group of fans who will be very pleased but the company will lose out on a tonne of business. The shooter market is bigger than the RPG one, and by combining the two like they have done I think they have done a very smart move and I applaud them for it. ME3 is confirmed to keep the gameplay of ME2 (which was FAR superior to ME1) and integrate it with a better RPG inventory system (which was lacking in ME2 but was, to all extents and purposes, bloody stupid in ME1). I am perfectly happy with this, as many people on here have already said. As to the ME3 worries because of DA2, separate design teams with separate goals. Dragon age was designed as a stand alone game and when it became successful they realised they could get sequels out of it. Mass effect was designed and written as a trilogy by a different team which has constantly told us that their goals were to mix shooter and RPG elements. I see no problem here.

Or how about simply have a silent protaganist and get a sh*tload more content Image IPB

Except that it doesnt work. Mass Effect 2 sales are not even near of those of sucessfull shooters. There are not even better compared with rpgs like fable or fallout.

irrelevant, i wasn't saying that it sold on par, i was saying that its design allowed it to dip in to both markets (although im pretty sure many people wouldnt class fallout or fable as rpg's).  I guarntee that if it changed the shotter gameplay for the worse, or got rid of any rpg elements, its sales would be dramaticaly reduced.  The reason why its doesn't come close to the other big players in the respective markets is probaly because it is such a blend, pure shooters and rpg players are put off by the combanation of genres
