ONE CAVE! one stinkin cave

Oh but you see this was okay because they gave us mor.... nah I wont lie for them even sarcastically.

I'd rather have quality over quantity. Batman: Arkham Asylum features no multiplayer, is about 8 hours in length, and has almost no replay value.

But guess what, i've replayed that game about 10 times. Why? Because the game was polished, had an atmosphere worthy of the Batman mythos, was ridiculously immersive and most importantly, the devs didn't sacrifice quality in favor of quantity.

I can still go back and play it, and it still draws me into its world (the same goes for other BioWare game), while I can barely play through the exaggerated opening of DA2. Because after that, it's just ridicoulus fetch quests (Sister Plinth's remains are apparently garbageImage IPB), the same cave, mansion and dungeon. And the same waves wearing plate armor attacking from jumping down the heavens.

Please, take a cue from Rocksteady Studios, BioWare. Don't rush out your games for a quick profit (we all know the game was rushed, don't deny it), don't be afraid to work on your games for at least a minimum of 3 years, please.

Why do they never ask interesting questions, my main question if i was interviewing him would be...

"In a lot of industries you are only as good as your last product and your last product has hit the budget bin in some world regions within two months of release, what are your views on that?"

Mike Laidlaw's first game as lead designer and he gets interviewed for Game Informer's version of the "hotseat". Still, I don't think they were hard on him as they were on say the lead designer for Alpha Protocol.

"God all I can say is I will be taking a wait and see approch to any games that have Mike Laidlaw on them. The man ruined a masterpiece."

O RLY? Let's say we go by what you are claiming. if you thought DA1 was a 'masterpiece' and thoguht DA2 'sucked the big one' how int he heck did he ruined the masterpiece? DA1 is still the same game it always was.

Reading his post in context i believe the "masterpiece" refers the the series as a unit not the seperate parts. For example many say Robocop 2 destroyed the series. Personally I thought it was clear enough what he meant.

Logic Fail. You can't take out the subject of a sentence and replace it with another at your convenience. I assumed he was talking about DA2.

In my opinion, I think most of the issues could have been fixed with more development time. Mr. Laidlaws statements are just the PR spin that is required from large companies. It is just unrealistic to expect such a large company to be that candid publicly, especially one that is funded by the massive EA. I think most of the goals for DA2 and the concepts surrounding it were very solid, but the short development time caused the execution to fail. One of the things I hate about DA2 is that it tries to please everyone, and ended up feeling boring and dispassionate as a result. I think art should never try to play it safe, because thats boring.

Sor's reply makes a lot more sense then yours. Yours is just illogical and doesn't make sense at all. And, he also avoided crying because someone posted soemthing he disagreed with.

In conclusion, sor82 > Pysthon

Mike Laidlaw is to Bioware as Jeff Zucker was to NBC. In other words an embarrassment. The guy should just admit it Dragon age is nothing more the a quick grab for money side project. And i fear Mass effect 3 is going to get the same treatment.

I hope at least some of you realize that if Knowles maybe had accepted to do DA2, then you lot would maybe have been pissing all over Knowles right now.

(Yes, I know, he didn't. But if that's your point, then you're missing the point.)

Seriously. A lot of people seem to be just assuming that Knowles would have been magically able to change the entire game. When, in reality, one of the main reasons why he quit was because he didn't like the sound of what DA2 was going to be. Regardless of what stage of pre-production he actually quit at, it was pretty clear from his blog that he had no control over the game's direction.

I mean, he wasn't the Project Lead on Origins, and he would not have been the Project Lead on DA2 - that was all Darrah. People like to crucify Laidlaw as the main guy behind DA2, when that's not really the case at all.
