Last night I added BGII fixpack and Lvl-1 NPC Mod and hosed it up somehow.
Previously I had added the TOB patch, Easy Tutu and BGI UB and that was good enough for me.
Then when I carried my PC over to BGII I wanted some additonal excitement so I added BGII fixpack and Lvl-1 NPC Mod - or so I thought - I was in mid-game.
I tried to direct both to my BGII SOA folder. In both cases I got what looked like a small DOS screen that siad it had encountered a fatal error (I think it said something like "audio.tlk" was missing but I could see a file for that in both my Easy Tutu and BGII folders)
Anyway, then I found what I thought to be both the fixpack and the Lvl-1 NPC Mod in "my documents" instead of BGII SOA so I cut and pasted them directly into BGII SOA. Not sure that worked.
Long story short, I decided to give up and go with a new install. Looking for help to make sure I do this right. I uninstalled last night.
Plan is to reinstall:
1) BGI TOSC
2) BGII SOA
3) TOB
4) TOB Patch
5) Easy Tutu
6) BGII Fixpack
7) Lvl-1 NPCs
Is this a proper order? If not, what should I change?
I also want to add the BGII Tweakpack and NPC-1 project as Son of Imoen has suggested. Where would they go?
I saved the game I was playing hoping once I reistall I will be able to get it back but would be fine starting over.
Also, one last question. After I unistalled I went back into my C: Drive and there was still what appeared to be East Tutu, BG and BGII folders. My intention, just to be sure is to right click and delete those before I start loading again. Add/remove programs does not reflect that they are there but I see the folders in my hard drive.
It's an old PC but it runs the game well when I get it in place.
Please don't abuse me here as I am in unfamilair territory doing anything to my PC.
I knew it was going too well

that order looks fine, BUT, recognize that if you want to apply the fixpacks and other mods, you need to recognize that while EasyTuTu uses the BG1 and II files, it only does so for installation - it creates a separate folder with the new, merged Tutu game. So you'll end up with 3 folders something like this:
c:\\program files\\black isle\\bg\\
c:\\program files\\black isle\\bgII - SOA\\
and
c:\\program files\\easytutu\\ (or whatever you select).
that third directory is where you want weidu mods to install.
when you go to run the bg2 fixpack or any other weidu mod, it's going to default to the default BG2 install location, so you'll manually need to browse to your c:\\program files\\easytutu\\ folder (or wherever you installed tutu) and run the fixpack and other weidu mods from there so that they patch/mod the Easytutu game, NOT the original BG2 game.
For the other mods you suggest, I"m not familiar with the NPC-1 mod or if its Tutu compatible, but install the tweakpack last.

In the other topic where I mentioned BGII Fixpack, it was a suggestion for BGII. I might have misunderstood you there.
For clarification: BGII Fixpack is a mod for a BGII campaign, NOT for Tutu installs based on a BGII install. To install Tutu you should have an unmodded but patched BGII+TOB install, an unmodded but patched BGI install. When you have those, Tutu will be installed to a different folder, so you will have 3 folders like Dante explains above.
Deleting a full game instead of uninstalling is not a good idea, it might give you problems installing later if your system thinks the games are still installed but the folder is not there. What might be the case though, after deïnstalling, there might be folders left not with the complete game, but with folders and files the deïnstallation process couldn't remove because they're not part of the original game. This is especially true of things added by mods: these might be deleted safely after deïnstalling the folder.
As to mod order, I suggest:
1) BGI TOSC
2) BGII SOA
3) TOB
4) TOB Patch
5) Easy Tutu
6) NPC1 Project
7) BGII Tweaks
8) Lvl1 NPC's
Changes applied last to the NPC kits will be what shows up in the game: so it's no use making Khalid a Fighter-Mage or Montaron an assassin using BGII Tweaks if you change their kits later with Lvl1-NPC's.
An alternative suggestion if the tweaks of lvl1-NPC's seem too daunting (you have to choose all proficiency points and thieving skills for the NPC's you want to change in advance) there's also EasyTutuNPC-kits, found here (scroll down) which keeps the class and just lets you select a kit within the existing class. Note that if you use this one, it should be installed immediately after EasyTutu and you should not use both.

Thanks both of you for the feedback.
Thanks Dante for the tip the three directories. I knew they were there but did not realize that I needed to place BGII mods in the Tutu folder.
As always, I appreciate any insight you have SoI.
I gave up last night and reloaded XP operating system. Note: I use that computer only for my Baldur's Gate gaming (and Ages of Empires I, II and III which I also enjoy).
I loaded BGI/TOSC but couldn't get BGII to load. It was failing immediately with a, "failure loading iKenrnel.exe" message. I have two sets og BGII disks and tried both so I figured I'd refire my OS and start fresh - in the meantime saved my games to a "memory stick" to see if they can be retrieved if I decide.
I loaded TOSC, SOA and TOB vanilla versions.
Tonight I'll attack the rest in TOB patch; Easy Tutu; NPC-1 Project; BGII Tweaks; Lvl-1 NPC order.
What about the banter pack? That sounds fun too. Where would I place that?
