I've literally never heard anyone refer to a Kaidan LI as a "ninja romance". It seems vaguely racist to me, and I can't think of anything that would substantiate it.

Except it isn't racist in any way. It's because his romance can easily sneak up on you even if you don't try to flirt with him.

maybe because his homosexuality is hidden like a ninja?

AND THANE'S, TOO! And Thane is a ninja!

It all makes sense...! Horrible, horrible sense! :(

Exactly this. And it isn't restricted to Kaidan, or even Mass Effect. Dragon Age: Origins had the sneakiest ninja-romance of all: Leliana, and she's a little red-headed French girl.

So no, ninja-romance isn't about race, it's about romance sneaking up on you, which is exceptionally annoying when Alistair starts to fear that you're secretly interested in women....

I usually play paragon, and femShep. She talked to Ashley; got her family history and other stuff. She talked to Kaidan, and got his background, biotic training and other stuff. She talked to Liara and got her family history and information about the asari and stuff. She talked to *everyone* and got their family history and stuff. I decided that the romance would be Liara, and headed down that dialogue route. I told her that Kaidan was a friend. I did not talk to Kaidan again. Suddenly it seems that my Shep was in a romance with Kaidan, even though she had never attempted to do that, and Kaidan was demanding she choose between himself and Liara.

That was a ninja-mance. It came out of nowhere, from what I could see. How did one conversation equal being romantically interested? I guess Ash was right when she said on the Citadel that Kaidan should get out more.

You must find the internet terribly confusing then, unless you've managed to not notice how people mis-spell just about everything constantly.  I've actually seen people mis-spell the indefinite article "a".

Yeah, that is pretty retarded. "Sounds" really stupid in your head when you read it.

What do you mean? Both spellings sound the same.

Yeah, I guess I should say it looks stupid when you see it written like that. That's what I meant with that.

Ah. See, that makes sense. It was the whole "It's a ninja romance because Kaidan is part asian" that threw me off.
