Was lurking through this thread http://social.biowar...5/index/6992092 and I thought what if the devs made stealth a viable second option to combat?
I know that getting the achievement was cake but what if it wasn't? I see a compeletly new dimension of gameplay for the tech classes. Obviously Soldiers and Vanguards would be the shock troops that they are and would charge in a base and crush the opposition head on. Adepts are the go to specialists and crowd controllers
But what about Infiltrators, Engineers, and Sentinels? They are supposed to be masters of subterfuge and sabatoge. Instead of breaking in the front door and engaging the enemy in a full frontal assault they could take the alternate path. With the ability to disable security systems and sabotaging mechs and other defenses they can complete the mission objective without alerting the entire complex. Clean and methodical. In, out, mission complete and no one was the wiser. The Hitman series distinctly comes to mind.
Of course you could take this approach with a Soldier or Vanguard too but it should be a lot more difficult. Besides who would want to?
This would certainly be along the line of "beefing up on RPG elements" like the said they would. I like to think of Arrival (gameplay) is to ME3 what Pinnacle Station was to ME2. Thoughts?

Let me repeat what I said in the other thread:
(1) I like that this new element was present and would absolutely love to see it extended in ME3.
(2) It was way too easy. No effort required. You just had to know that you could do it and keep away from any enemies.
(3) It would have been very nice to be table to take out single enemies silently from behind.

Bioware should give this option to the Infiltrator for each combat. Activate Tactical Cloak, sneak up to an enemy, snap his neck and gun down the one next to him.

I'd actually use the word 'stillborn' rather than 'easy'. It was nice of BW to add this feature to the DLC, but it was not implemented well at all. Don't get me wrong if I sound angry, but even the original Wolfenstein had a better stealth mechanic than Arrival. If a stealth mechanic is brought back in ME3, it really needs more sophistication and polish than what we've seen in Arrival.Ieldra2 wrote...

I love stealth games and some games that allow it like Deus Ex but I wouldn't want to see it in ME3. The Mass Effect series so far has had a nice mix of shooter and RPG elements. I think a stealth mechanic wouldn't really mesh well. I've played some RPG/shooter games that have stealth including the two Deus Ex games and Alpha Protocol. The difference was they didn't have any casting type abilities, per se. It would be hard to cram all those controls onto a console controller. I already spend way too much time in the pause menu for ME2.

I'd like if Infiltrator can do some stealth kills while cloaked in ME3.

I like the idea but to me it does not suit the fighting in Mass Effect games they tend to be all guns blazing battles not silent assassinations (except certain power ups for kasumi)
I think it will be best for them to stick with the all guns blazing fighting which should very much suit the style of ME3 which is a race against time NOT silence is key

I don't know, I play an Infiltrator and use the cloak constantly, but I just don't think stealth would suit Shep that well...Shep just strikes me as being about as subtle as a brick.

I agree. I can't see Shepard crawling through vents.

Got to agree with Golden Owl; it just wouldn't feel right somehow. Still, there are plenty of little things that can be done to give things more of a silent tip without changing Shepard's voice actors to David Hayter and... erm... Jennifer Hale would be fine to stay, I suppose.
So long as I don't encounter anymore floating batarians if at all possible. I don't know about anyone else but two of the batarian guards in Arrival were... floating several feet in midair.

Here's what id from ms3 for me to be able to utilize my squad members by actually using them. I think to the collector base and what it wouldve been like if we couldve went the alternate route by using the other squad instead of shepards. Even kasumi's mission I shouldve been able to use her to steal something. In kotor you switch between whatever squadmember u want why not bring that back only some parts of the game because it pisses me off when im playing insanity and my squad is really great and I get killed and its all over that just isnt right and the fact I cant even use medigel to save my self isnt good either.
