I've been trying to avoid putting ambiguous ones down when possible but I'll add this just for you :)

We were able to get a few users to extract files from their Xbox and send them to us to parse them. It appears the issue is that the counter isn't working 100% of the time - we're currently trying to get this fixed (as well as Epic which seems to be having the same issue) for the next patch.

If you take another companions quest (that locks them in to the party) it will fix that issues with Fenris. We've seen this happen on rare occasion with Sebastian and Merrill as well.

Is the consoling words problem ambiguous? Would be nice to know whether I should stop sqwauking about it.

Does it not fire when they get taken to the templars/circle either? I know you said it didn't fire when they went grey warden but I dont recall seeing anything about them being taken away.

Hopefully someone can confirm or deny this (merrill's consoling words with templars/circle)

So Luke, have you and your team at Bioware been able to figure out how to address the import bugs?

Right now we're looking at removing the approval rating checks in DA2. This will fix the majority of those issues.

Technically no but I guess that depends what you mean by retroactive. They should work on everything going forward in your playthrough but it won't make the decisions/conversations/plotflags you've already passed work as they should have.

Luke,

Please see my question posted in the 1.01 patch thread here:

Thanks!

Yes, we're expecting a retro-fix for this issue in the next title update. (and no I can't say how long that will be )

So is there any update on the patch? Is it near to being sent to certification?

Since 'near' is a relative term I can say with certainly that it is near. :P

I can't really give you much more info than I already have. We're working very hard on the whole process so all I can say is that we'll get it to you as soon as we can. You can however expect that I will give some info when possible so your best bet right now is to just stalk me I suppose :bandit:

The Consoling Words issue is the reason I stopped playing. I would love some sort of response to the people confirming and denying the problem. Patience is a virtue I lack, I am sorry to say, which is why I seem like the typing equivalent of a broken record.

Well, we've done a better job actually removing the Mourning quest so that you'll have it fade in to a distant memory. Consoling Words should fire if they get taken to the circle/templars and from what I understand there shouldn't be one if they go Grey Warden.

So if they go Grey Warden then Merrill has nothing to say to you at the start of Act 2 whilst everyone else does? That seems a bit daft. =/
Good job for the removing Mourning.

It's certainly not ideal but sometimes, due to unfortunate circumstances, it's necessary.

sooo...merril being the only companion to say nothing bethany goes grey warden, which also means you dont get a "merril-after the deep roads" codex entry like every other companion...is intentional?

Well, I don't think intentional is the right choice for the situation, I would use necessary. Obviously we never want to have less content if we can help it but sometimes it's unavoidable.

It's not a bug in the sense that it should have never been there in the first place. As for the actual reason why it isn't supposed to be in the game I can't comment on but I'll say that sometimes things get removed for whatever reason on purpose during development. Normally you just don't notice because there isn't a pesky quest update firing.

As for the Morrigan stuff, there is issues with flags moving from the DAO (+dlc) realm to DA2 but luckily there is NOTHING in DA2 that currently uses them so that aspect has no issues on your game right now so try not to worry about it :)

Let's see if I can nail all those questions in one round.

- Approval rating was a secondary check that the conversations in DAII were looking for to see if you had an active romance (or other stance) with characters from DAO+. In DAA, approval ratings were not being properly saved so any import from DAA on will have had all of those checks fail. Removing this half of the system will rely solely on the other check, which is whether you were in a romance or not with those characters.

- Nathanial Howe not appearing is being caused by an issue in DAA where if you left party members in Amaranthine they were considered dead by the prologue - this obviously transfered in to DA2. "If you don't allow Amaranthine to be destroyed companions who stayed at Vigil's Keep will be marked as dead in codex, even if they survived according to epilogue."

- The Leliana checks should fire properly when the approval rating is changed

- As for the Mourning/Consoling words issue, Matt2108 was pretty much dead on. Consoling Words should be working fine - Mourning however, which would have fired for both a dead and warden sibling, was cut from the game due to technical issues that were causing severe problems with Merrill's interactivity throughout the game. It is not a bug that it is not firing. I realize that is upsetting news; perhaps we'll look in to reintroducing it in the future.

As far as I understood it, yes, that is correct. I'm more on the combat and balance side so I apologize if my terms and description are not 100% accurate or clear.

Right now, I think your only course of action is to go back to DAA and not leave him at Vigil's Keep. Obviously this is not feasible for most people so we'll try to come up with a better solution but as it is an issue specifically with DAA+ reporting information incorrectly I'm not sure it's possible.

You know the "Mage hunter" acheivment?
Well I did all 4 pro-Templar actions up to the start of Act 3 where Merideth and Orsino are argueing.
I then choose the to side with Meredith but the achievment didn't unlock.
The 6th time I did a pro-Templar action that can count for the achievment it unlocked.

Not a major issue as it can still be unlcoked by performing six rarther 5 pro-Templar actions.
So would that be a bug or is that just the achivement having the wrong description?

Possibly one of those checks doesn't count as a templar/mage decision? If you know exactly which ones you consider part of this achievement I'll get someone to take a look for you.
