That's by design.  Critical Chance is Dex-10.

Are you saying it's suppose to be Dexterity score minus 10?  Why would my stats be lowered below what is starting by using Maker's Sigh?  IMO it's a glitch.  Dexterity was 11 on my Warrior with 11% Critical Chance.  Used Maker's Sigh and it was changed to the starting 10 Dexterity yet lowered critial chance to 0%.  Hence, a glitch.  Needs to be fixed.

I've beaten the game and have considered a new playthrough, but don't want the second playthrough to be broken still.

Aveline got stucked in limbo in the second dragon fase in the quest "Dragon Massacre" when fighting the High Dragon. I'm not sure what was causing the issue, but she should use a restoration potion. I can't tell either if it's only in this fight or in others, aswell if it was random or not. I could not manually control her and i could not use any skills or potions. She was completely stucked, though her head and body moved after the high dragon. Her active ability at that time was focused on the restoration potion.

I use the default tactis and behavior (Tank, Defender). At that time she used; Turn the blade, Shield defense and Bravery as buffs. She also got my mage elemental weapons on and Anders Panacea. As active ability she was going to use was the restoration potion.

Gravitic Ring? (Force Mage) I've heard of this happening in rare cases with that spell.

No force spells, no, though i have invested in the forc mage specialization, but haven't spent any points into the abilities.

I believe Merrill's Consoling Words still fires as normal? This is essentially the same as mourning except that you didn't bring your sibling to the DRE

So if I do take Bethany on the Deep Roads quest, I don't get an 'After the Deep Roads' discussion with Merrill since 'Mourning' isn't actually supposed to be in the game? Or are you saying that I will instead get Consoling Words? Apologies if I'm being a bit dense.

Weird. I assume this was a one time thing? Let me know if you come across that again (without Gravitic Ring, obviously)

The Tome of the Slumbering Elders is still junk too. I still have a hard time believing that this was intentional. Can you guys fix that as well?

What he's saying seems right. The warrior I just started has 10 dexterity with 0% critical chance. When I add points to dexterity the % moves up by 1 as well...

Not a problem.

As far as I am aware (and I'm not the definitive export on plot/conversations by any means) Mourning fires when your sibling dies and Consoling Words fires when your sibling goes Grey Warden or Templar/Circle (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). With that in mind, Consoling Words still works with Merrill. Mourning on the other hand does not.

Yes, i will, but i think that some commands and tactics got into each other and caused the issue. I can remember that i let Aveline use the potion and then i told her to go to a specific area. It wasn't after a while i saw her just standing there doing nothing. Then i took control, but she was completely stucked. At first i thought she was stucked into the ground, but she couldn't use any skills or potions either, but as i mentioned she should use the potion at that time of action. She got my entire group killed too, i mean, she's my tank after all.Image IPB

Alrighty! I get it now. When I played it I didn't get Consoling words but I sent Bethany off with the Grey Wardens. For some reason 'Mourning' appeared and auto-corrected itself instead. I don't know if anyone else had this mix up or have I missed reading it in the fixes?

I was getting all worried that I would be missing out on more of Merrill.

Have you used Maker's Sigh previously?  Starting Dex should actually be 11 on Warrior and not 10

Starting dexterity stat for a warrior is definitely 10, just ran through the creation part to double check. No I have not used a Maker's Sigh on my character.

"Companions lose upgrades when they switch outfits."

Is this confirmed? Romances only or something? I just went from Act 1 to 2, Aveline still had her armor upgrade after changing outfits.

Yeah I just loaded my save again and took off the plus 1 equipment I have. However it still shows dex at 10 and critical chance at 10 percent before I use makers sigh

Strange sir, both my regular character and the one I just created for the sake of this topic had 10 dex with 0% critical chance. :?

Nevermind the crit chance thing, my issue was not calculating the ability Sunder into it.

Post patch my mage Hawke seems to have been affected a couple of times by her own Cone of Cold spell. Not frozen - but has had her movement speed temporarily slowed to Isabela speed glitch levels. Are there enemy spells/effects that can cause a similar slowdown? I don't remember any character I was controlling suffering from it before in any playthrough. In both cases I had just cast Cone of Cold when I noticed the slowdown. The other members of my party didn't seem to suffer any ill effects.

Is there any chance you have an passive/sustained/equipment that's giving you the +10% chance to critical that's stripped when you use Maker's Sigh?  That seems the most likely.  I'm pretty muhc 100% sure that with a base Dex of 10 and with no abilities, critical chance is supposed to be 0%, then increase 1% per point in Dexterity beyond that.

EDIT:  Oops, think we cross-posted.  Glad you discovered it was Sunder.

Was just going to mention this after reading your posts.  You must have had Sunder before the Maker's Sigh and then didn't re-take it.

Disappointed to hear that the slow animation bug wasn't fixed retroactively.

Shelved again until further notice.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but I believe the Act 2 Warrior armor set is bugged. I have noticed that all the armor sets are found in the same places for all classes, but are class specific. Well, I got to the part where you are confront the guy in the Hangman for the quest "Offered and Lost". Now, if you fight them you are suppose to get the sets chest piece, but instead I got the Rogue armor set piece. Now, in all the forums I searched they say you can buy it in Act 3, but I believe that is only there if you don't fight them, and take the peaceful means to get the info.

Hate to quote myself, but I believe this deserves some attention. All the research I have done on this forum and a few others shows that people assume this is as intended, but that isn't true. It would seem that the flags in game that determine which armor set your Hawke is suppose to get isn't set right. When you kill the person that is suppose to drop the chest piece he will instead drop the Rogue "Enasalin set" instead. You can tell this is not intended, because on my first playthrough I got all the armor pieces before act 3, and up until this point my warrior was getting all the armor pieces in the same excat spot my rouge did.

im not sure if this has been brought up before... prob has but i don't have a lot of time to read the entire forums :) but anyway im sure bioware knows about the spelling and grammar mistakes at the start of the game but i wanna bring it up just in case. when u chose ur gender and class right at the start of the game the descriptions have grammar/spelling mistakes in them... i know its not a HUGE issue but it bugs the hell out of me and makes the game look really unprofessional... its like some random guy was told "hey go write the descriptions of the classes... it will take like 2 mins" and then no one bothered to check it was correct... the sad thing is ppl must have noticed them if they even played the game once. just no one took the time to fix it. i would love to see this fixed in the next patch... sure its not a HUGE issue but it bugs me something fierce and its so lame... like it would take 5 mins to re-write the descriptions right? thought this woulda been in the first patch... i know it wouldn't be big on the priority list... but hell if i had access to the patch system i could do it for u! ;) also i know it must seem a lil funny that im ****ing about grammar and spelling when i blow at my self... but meh this aint an essay or a game ;)

You could still surely try to type it out right so that the Bioware staff will have an easier time reading it - even more so considering you are complaining about typos. :pinched:
