I did..also I'm uploading a video of my freezing jittering issue...had to restart my mage because I dunno something got screwed while playing him..first time I had to restart an entire game.

are you sure about this? merril is the only companion that doesnt have an "after the deep roads" codex entry cause you cant talk to her immediatly after the deep roads like everyone else, correct?


If you read back on my posts, they relate to your question.
Mourning isn't in the game but Consoling Words is supposed to activate. It didn't for me either.
(I don't like that this has inconvenienced you but I do like that I'm not the only one with this issue)

Have not read entire thread, but apparently the issue regarding the Deep Roads Expedition Character Select screen not initiating is still around.

Basically the Bartrand/Your Mom(forgot her name) cutscene replays infinitely and does not allow you to select your party and move forward, effectively making that character unable to proceed indefinitely.

Loading an earlier save does not help to my recollection.

I did talk to Bodahn he just welcomed me home...I recorded a 2 min video on some freezing I was talking about earlier to verify that im not "Just" making crap up but its up to you guys if you wanna see it.

I'm starting to fear that they won't be able to fix the DAA issues. Think about it, if the data going from DAO to DAA is bad and is missing things, how can it be fixed going from DAA to DA2? You can't create data out of nothing. What you have to do is fix the bridge from DAO to DAA, and they certainly gave up on the bugs still in DAA long ago. I've done a lot of database work, and there's a garbage in garbage out problem here. As long as the stuff coming from DAA is flawed, they can't fix that without fixing DAA itself. AND that means your playthroughs in DAA would need to be redone and recreated (!!!!) in order to contain the DAO stuff that was missing in the first place.

Glitch report:
- When Hawke moves from the Gallow to the other place, combat bgm is played on the loading screen.

- Enchantment menu; weapon icons below turn into companion armor icons. It occurs when switching from the armor list to the weapon list.
- Battle menu; shield bash cannot be activated at short range.

- Quest; Best Served Golds; SPOILER, Bethany was a member of the Circle though she became a grey warden.

I hope that it will be fixed by a save file generator like the interactive backstory comic included in mass effect 2(PS3), at least.

I forgot to mention this but I have issues with the dog as well, sometimes the dog will just walk away and travel all the way back to the start of an area, so even if i go forward and theres enemies the dog is gone from plain sight!

For retroactively fixing the friendship bugs, couldn't you just get a patch to run a one-time check to see if attack speed/damage resistance is less than the default (sans equipment) and reset it to the default if it is? There might be a few people with legitimately low attack speeds/DRs that would somewhat unfairly benefit from it, but it would help a lot more people who are illegitimately suffering.

I'm not a programmer or anything, so someone set me straight if that's stupid/not feasible somehow.

consoling words is not triggering for me for merril, i took bethany with me into the deep roads, and she went grey warden. no consoling words and mourning still auto completes.

i loaded the game after patching, it was a load from the deep roads just before i clicked the "to the surface" door.

maybe its working in new games, but the patch should have fixed it for saves that havent exited act 1 as well, no?

ugh...Origions has a similar bug. The Denrium quest to find the boot leggars has a perminanat "tag" on the mission even though you have already completed the mission. annoying yes...but it doesn't affect the game other than that. i love this game because of the fact it doest have the "self defined" programming that alot of other games have...the only draw back is....bugs....i can live with that.

Not a problem.

As far as I am aware (and I'm not the definitive export on plot/conversations by any means) Mourning fires when your sibling dies and Consoling Words fires when your sibling goes Grey Warden or Templar/Circle (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). With that in mind, Consoling Words still works with Merrill. Mourning on the other hand does not.




Neither Consoling Words nor Mourning has ever fired for me, I just get the Mourning auto-complete no matter what happens.
EDIT: Ok, I see from the OP that 'Mourning' is not meant to be in the game (though I can't see why), but Consoling Words should trigger and doesn't. Along the lines of Varric's 'Friendly Concern' convo, I got one with Isabela about Merril but it wasn't flagged in the journal or anything, I just randomly spoke to he - I'm not sure if this is meant to pop up in the journal or not.

I'm having the same problem now.  I tried clearing cache / re-downloading patch and it still persists. Very annoying in larger battles.   Annoying, but not game breaking. 

Also, things I've noticed: Quest "sketchy on the details" fails to clear the log even after the quest is completed.  Game time is messed up / the game save is off on time of save.  Game ceases up occassionally.  It just comes to a halt and I have to manually reset the xbox.  In Act 2, I've completed the quest involving kidnapping / mom (I don't remember the name).  However, when doing Isabella's quest near the end of the Act, I arrive in low town to find Uncle Gamlen hounding a street urchin for the location of mom.    

The problem with the flags needs to be fixed.  Before Witch Hunt was patched, it provided character summary notes at the end and those notes made reference to relationships / decisions in origins.  (Now, completing Witch Hunt goes straight to credits)  I don't understand why those flags would be failling to trigger now.  Even assuming it is fixed, will the fix apply to future imports or will it apply to existing games? 

So, I've finished the game twice with roughly sixty hours for both play throughs.  I have experienced and reported on game killing  and game breaking bugs both times.  Game testers receive $8.50 an hour. So I figure that works out to $510.00.   If you could have payroll get in touch with me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've seen the Gravitic ring bug a few times post patch as well (360). The most glaring example is when my mage dueled the Arishok. It seems like a good fight to try to replicate the problem. On the second or third gravitic ring he walked into the center of it and just stood there. I wasn't that upset because I could tell I was going to win eventually anyway, but I'm sure his followers were very disappointed in him.

To be fair - I didn't really start using the Force Mage specialty until after the game was patched.

Okay, I put a stupid question to Bioware now. The point is this, I'm from Germany and I can't play with both English language and German subtitles. Is it possible to build in a function for changing the subtitles in the settings? I want to play in English language because the voices are better than the German ones, but I have to switch the language settings on the console for it, and so I can't play with English language AND German subtitles. Unfortunately, my English isn't good enough to understand every single word that fast (especially the sarcastic answers are not always easy to understand for foreign people). It's a bit annoying that I can't combinate... :(

Anyway, Is this the right place to ask?

If I had to hazard a guess, they will neither confirm nor deny what is in the next patch until it passes certification for one or all platforms. Image IPB

Alright, well I'll report an actual problem now. While the graphical errors have more or less faded, I have noticed that the "cutscene bars" (The black bars we get in cutscenes) occasionally are affected by the closest graphic assets.

Example 1: When talking to Aveling and Wesley for the first time, the smoke in the horizon will bleed onto the top black bar.

Example 2: When talking to Varric about the deep roads entrance, his fireplace's flames will show through the bottom black bar.

Only saying what others have already stated but it would be awesome for those of us who play on console to be fitted out with a save game generator which allows us select the correct flags from our previous play thru's on DA:O/Awakening/DLC and continue on with DAII. I guess only Bioware know which would be more work however, Trying to patch all the existing software or make a stand-alone app that covers all the bases and gives us a save file that is seen perfectly by DAII.

I've not seen Luke or Rob ever comment on this idea, if you happen to read this your thoughts maybe ?

 After this update the game starts to freeze. After ca minute of playing, white dashed vertical lines shows up and there is no other option just to restart the console. Is there a way to rollback?

It's certainly feasible.  I suspect that if they wanted to do it; they would just make it part of DA3 or future DLC, though.

Did someone say it doesn't affect game-play? I missed that. I'll kick them in the butt for you as I feel the same way.
