After having completed "A Paragon of Her Kind" there doesn't seem to be a way to participate in The Proving, except for the separate series of team battles, am I correct? I didn't do Harrowmont's questline so I've never fought in The Proving before.

You can take part in the proving, however, before the coronation, even if you are on Bhelen's side...
