There's a lot to like about DA2. If you don't have issues with it, it may feel to be a great game even.
<-- has issues with it
My best moment was Aveline's "I can fix this"

Why are you apologizing for liking this game?
hes apologizing because bioware is all but letting the hate mongers run these forums into the ground with their constant trolling, to the point he thinks hes strange for actually enjoying the game.
its really a twisted thing going on over here on the DA2 forums.
if bioware kicks the hate-mongering trolls off the forum, then it just fuels them to post how they are being tyrranical about criticism and will only allow positive reviews to exist.
if they dont stop the hate-mongering trolls, you have happy customers who think its weird to like the game.
i mean really, its messed up.

There are Trolls on both sides - you can put F-C into any dictionary as a perfect example.

You also have to weigh your options a bit more carefully when deciding which talents to get and which companions to bring along. In general there are more benefits and drawbacks for all of these kinds of character progression decisions than there were in DAO.
I haven't played all the way to the end yet and I understand some have complained that your quest-related choices during gameplay don't have enough impact on the ending. I can't comment on that yet, but if that is the case I would certainly see that as a disappointment.
I have put in about 110 hrs on my first playthrough (up to beginning of Act 3) and then I started a new playthrough to help beta test Patch 1.02, currently up to 60 hours in the middle of Act 2 on that one.
By my calculations, it seems that if you play on Nightmare and micromanage every party member instead of using tactics, each playthrough is going to last a really long time (150hrs+). This is a lot longer than any of my playthroughs of DAO.
And I'm still enjoying it a lot - only thing I really dislike about the game is all those side quests where you find an object in a chest and then a random person on the street gives you some gold. I only read the journal to find out about these quests retroactively to figure out why the hell the guy just gave me gold.
If only these quests could be given in a dialogue with the quest giver, or at a minimum as a posting on the Mage's Board or Chanter's Board, then they would feel like real quests.

I just picked up DA2 a couple of days ago and I'm loving it. I love the combat change, so far I'm loving the character interactions, the banter, the dialogue, no more awkward-PC-Stare... I am, honestly, enjoying it more than DA:O.
So, here's one happy Bioware fanboy. Thanks for the great game, guys!
Get back here and tell us your feelings AFTER you finish the game please. I'm pretty sure you will have seen the light by then... and if not, at least you will have been exposed to what made everyone else so upset, like the re-used area graphics for instance.
Finished it and...
I still like it!
I am playing my third run on it now.
Would I like it more with less repetitive areas? Sure I would.
Would I like a different combat system? not really
Would I like different ending? No, not really.
Would I want DA:O 2 instead? DA 2 is not Origins and I dont bother to compare two games like that.
You dont like it? Im fine with that.
Is it perfect? Is any game?
Is it RPG? Yes it is.
Thanks Bioware!

True, but one has to ask, why does the OP feel a need to apologize for liking the game?
That alone says something.

Never!!!
If anyone says they like the game, you MUST be sure to tell them you DON'T like it. You MUST make sure they know your opinion. Even if you have to say it a million times, everyone must know you didn't like the game.

Where's the moderates? The people that see big flaws in the game but don't mindlessly bash it as if it would cause The Second Coming of Christ.

People often use the term "sorry" colloquially in a sarcastic way, as in:
"I'm sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about."
It's not always an apology.

I think he purposely worded it that way just to start something.

There are quite a few of us. I have given alot of constructive feedback and been trolled and insulted for doing so and not following the stream going berserk. I still like the game though, but I sure as hell find flaws pretty much everywhere.Savber100 wrote...

Thats the thing.........
You are labeled a hater if you didn't think the game was flawlessly perfect
You are a lebeled a fanboy if you gave the game a 7/8
Theres no middle ground here.

I think naughty hit it right but, my question is; why cant I say I enjoy playing this game without someone throwing it back in my face with some rude remark? Its like Im saying something bad about them personally.
I think it has more to do with the general nature of forums and forum posters than people's opinions about DA2.
People sometimes get so emotionally invested in their posted rants or raves that when someone disagrees there is almost a primal need to prove you wrong, even when you are debating something that is purely subjective, like the reasons why you enjoy or dislike something. Then the anonymity factor compounds this problem.
I have heard that there was a similar level of vitriol on the Bethesda forums when Oblivion was released.

Well I'm happy for you then =) Keeping an open, positive attitude is generally a good thing. Personally I feel Bioware can do better, and has done in the past. If they slack off and fall asleep during development, someone needs to keep them on their toes and tell them to shape up again, so far I think the community here is doing a pretty stellar job at that - and most of us don't **** and moan because we enjoy it (ok maybe a little) but it actually stems from a deep care for the company, a wish to see Bioware at its A-game.

It's how I feel with Alpha Protocol. I enjoy the game but recognise objectively, that there are issues and problems with it. Not perfect, far from it, but enjoyable. I'm sure many Dragon Age 2 fans feel the same way about this game. Besides, it's not like it makes the games I enjoy worse.
