You ain't lyin.
There are certainly some hardcore nostalgia goggles wearing TES fans. And the level of excitement for Skyrim is so high people are going to be disappointed if it turns out that the game was not beamed directly from Jesus into Todd Howard's mind..

Not everyone that posts criticism or their dislike of the game is a 'hate-mongering troll'.
True, but one has to ask, why does the OP feel a need to apologize for liking the game?
That alone says something.
Yes, it says they know the game is inferior, chalk full of flaws, but they like it anyhow.
It's also a subtle way of stifling discussion or criticism of their opinion, cause then you're the big-bad meanie for ruining candyland.
Or maybe cause they wanted to lay out some flame-bait, and start more bickering. Ironic, huh?
Or maybe they're just playing the victim, like the poster seems to be:

Same here. I had too apologize for loving it too. Of course, I got ragged for it but,oh well.

Looks like we are going to continue to get ragged for loving the game guys.

Now you know thats not going to happen Eterna5. They cant help themselves.

Why is he apologizing? Because he's
probably like me, he knows he's going to be ragged for it and that alone
is not right. What is so wrong about liking this game?

I think naughty hit it right but, my
question is; why cant I say I enjoy playing this game without someone
throwing it back in my face with some rude remark? Its like Im saying
something bad about them personally.
For the record, I'd give DA2 a 6.5. Could have easily been much better.
I'd say that's "moderate" enough. And generous enough to this game.

Meh. I don't like the game personally, but there's nothing wrong with others enjoying the game.
It's how I feel with Alpha Protocol. I enjoy the game but recognise objectively, that there are issues and problems with it. Not perfect, far from it, but enjoyable. I'm sure many Dragon Age 2 fans feel the same way about this game. Besides, it's not like it makes the games I enjoy worse.
Exactly. And people seem to be caught up in an absolutistic "either or" kind of scenario, where there isn't room for anything other than ultimate praise or ultimate trashing.
It's ok to enjoy a game, like say Alpha Protocol, even love it, and still not close your eyes to the problems the game might have - bugs, graphics, what have you. The story might simply appeal to you so much that the apparent flaws of the game were merely initial obstacles to overcome.
This doesn't mean that these flaws shouldn't be addressed and brought to attention!

There is a difference between AP and DA2 ... AP was Obsidians experiment (new IP, new ruleset, new engine, etc.) on the other hand with DA2 Bioware had everything + feedback from DA:O flaws ... not to mention fact that they butchered lore in DA2 and copied ideas from AP ...
* smallprint - yes im Black Isle / Obsidian fanboi

Yes, I was using "Sorry," as an expression - Sorry (literally) for the confusion. No, I was not trying to "start something" by doing so. I just saw a lot of negative threads about the game (with some pretty mean posts) and I thought it would be nice if the devs saw a thread praising their work.
Honestly, I LIKED Origins, but something about it always made me feel a little disconnected from it. I thought I would like it more than ME2, but I ended up liking ME2 way more - which is weird for me because I'm not typically into Sci Fi or FPS.

Don't be sorry. What are your most memorable moments so far?
Gosh, the first time I got to experience combat as a rogue, I had to pause the game! So much more to do than the original, feels more twitchy. The combat animations are super smooth and I am just loving the skills!
DraCZeQQ wrote...
Let me ask you one thing. Would you like the game MORE if it would have no recycled areas, less repetetive combat, more choices that have impact, more companion interaction, non-combat quests, riddles, puzzles and story that dont ignore lore?
In order of asking:
Probably wouldn't affect my enjoyment.
I don't find the combat repetitive, I enjoy it.
Nah.
YES! Companion interaction are my favorite parts of Bioware games. So far I'm not disappointed by the amount in DA2, but I can never get enough! I often have to go back and replay BG 1 and 2 just because I MISS the characters, if you can believe that!
Hm.. I can't say yet. Right now, I'm enjoying the new quest structure, but I don't know if the balance changes significantly in later acts.
Honestly, lore isn't my thing, so I probably won't even notice if any of the riddles / puzzles / story details break lore. And if the question was "Would [I] like more puzzles and riddles" - nah.

Yeah rogues fit well into the feel of the game. They have some smooth animations, and the flow and pace seems to match that of combat in general.
Having played a rogue on both DAO and DA2, they did get some significant loving. Melee rogues felt a bit awkward in DAO.

One more thing, now that the patch is here, Im having trouble getting back into the game. After 4 complete games I think Im getting a little burned out. Is there a noticable improvement in the game?

Please don't be a lemming troll. If I based my likes and dislikes on what toehrs liked I'd be hating some awesome games and liking games people hate.
Unpopular Games I Like: ARC, BL, and TW
Popular Games I Dislike: ES series and TW

I just picked up DA2 a couple of days ago and I'm loving it. I love the combat change, so far I'm loving the character interactions, the banter, the dialogue, no more awkward-PC-Stare... I am, honestly, enjoying it more than DA:O.
So, here's one happy Bioware fanboy. Thanks for the great game, guys!

Good for you. I like it too.
Sometimes I feel bad for Bioware having to read everyone's complaints.
They wouldn´t have to if they had made a good game.
That being sad....
STOP APOLOGIZING FOR LIKING A GAME, EVERYONE! IT´S A MATTER OF OPINION!!!!!!!
Edit: And with regards to some posts above mine: Stop insulting others. There is nothing wrong with having different tastes, and - BIG SURPRISE!!!! - that stays true if it´s bad tastes we´re talking about.

If you don't share someone's opinion, that's fine, but insults and attacks are, and always have been, completely unacceptable.
Civility and politeness cost you absolutely nothing.

The bottom line is that although we are all playing the same games, we are not all playing the same games. Yeah, we have the same discs/downloads, but the experiences, what we think and feel as we're playing, varies from person to person. Yes, that's obvious, but when we start berating people for not seeing their point of view, we should really be looking at ourselves because we are clearly not seeing their point of view either. We should be saying "I liked this, but I didn't like this" without feeling like it's a personal attack if someone has the complete opposite opinion/experience.

Now I do want to make my opinion heard however, in hopes that what the loyal fanbase wants really does matter to BW. Just maybe, maybe they mean it. Enough people like me want a change for the next game and we just might get it. If I never said anything I have no one to blame but myself if every game BW makes from here on out is just like DA2.

But then again i don't like this, and salute people like trigon, who, despite their obvious hatred for the game, don't attack those who like it, and respect the difference of opinions.
It shows that while they have the ability and "reason" to bash people, they behave nicely. Too bad many here can't behave like that.
