I enjoyed the game as well in the first two days, but after reaching Act 2 and the repetition started to kick in I can't find any motivation to continue. On top of that it seems that after Act 2 there is nothing new to see, and the story begins to fall short in Act 3 and that's dissapointing.
I don't understand how you can make a value judgment about Act 3 if you haven't proceeded beyond Act 2. If you're basing your opinion on other people's feedback, I would urge you to play through the game yourself, as you might have different opinions once you've experienced the content directly. Even if your opinion doesn't change though, at least you will know it's based on your own direct experiences.
The repetitive environments were a disappointment for me as well as for many other players, but I am enjoying enough of the other aspects of the game that I'm not focusing on that particular design decision. It's understandable if that consideration is more disappointing to others though, as we all focus on different aspects of the game. If level design and exploration is one of the primary avenues of enjoyment from a game, Dragon Age 2 would be particularly disappointing.
Well the game just stopped being fun for me at that point, and it was not just the repetitive environments, but also the fights themselves, which became to feel more like chores than fun. In Origins I would always look forward to each fighting encounter. I don't know why, the feeling is just not the same in DA2.
My character was also affected by the maker's sigh bug, where I would end up (unintentionally) having enough points to have all specializations and extra spells (by act 2). While some might be happy with the extra spells, it made the game less fun for me.
I didn't continue because It stopped being fun, and already felt dissapointed, and didn't want to feel even more dissapointed after finishing it. But as I said, similar to the OP, I did found the game fun and enjoyable through the first Act. I'm normaly not affected by others opinions, hell I even bought the game after all the negative user reviews. But sometimes, it's good to consider other's opinions though, not taking those reviews seriously cost me $60.
