Exploding Enemies - Not so unrealistic

Mind you, the whole DA2 game is a big lie made up by Varric. There is no champion, the Hawke family doesn't even exist. The Arishok slipped when he's climbing up the stairs, hit his head on the ground and died. Orsino died from blood loss while practicing blood magic and Meredith died of leukemia.

So did DAO.
Just so we know. Are you arguing for consitancy in the universe or just for each game?

Animation and representation consistency is what matters for each game. Narrative consistency matters for the whole universe. Sometimes those overlap.addiction21 wrote...

How's Hawke dumb? Unlucky, you can say, but there are many ways to play and some are not dumb at all IMO.The Angry One wrote...
Although FFT is a great game, it's ironic in that Ramza is possibly the one hero who is even dumber than Hawke.
He was dumb to go to Kirkwall to start with, and even dumber not to leave when it turned out the heritage was gone.
Don't think dumb is the right word. I can't recall Ramza doing anything stupid, outside of trusting *spoiler.* I think. . .being a mook is the bigger thing. But in this medium being manipulated is like. . .part of the ride, unfortunately. When I think of dumb heroes, I think of say. . .Edge Maverick from Star Ocean 4, who gives futuristic tech to a known monster for no concievable reason. Don't play that game for anything.
Denam is a better hero than both of them, though (Hawke and Ramza). When I stated this is the way I want Bioware to go with their writing, the main point I am trying to make is limit the pointless things we have a "choice" about that doesn't really lead to anything and make more larger plot points have reflective changes in the narrative. Turning down a companion isn't really a "choice" in my opinion in a continuous universe. Pissing off a dirt farmer doesn't impact your game at all outside of making you chuckle. In Tactics Ogre, Denam does a really awful thing in the Law route but you don't even think of him as a monster by the time you are the end of the game, and since Bioware won't really let us play evil characters, they might as well frame the narrative to make you do things more in a grey, pragmatic way than a dumb Jesus way or a dumb douche way that they currently do (talking about main quests).

1. Alright. Show me a Codex entry that says that exploding bodies is inconsistent with Dragon Age lore.
Show us a codex entry that explains it, in a world in which mundane events had appeared to operate by laws of physics that we would be familiar with.
Giant spiders, Ogres, and Dragons are creatures are that not possible with realistic laws of physics.
Let's make one thing clear. I am not claiming that it's unrealistic or that it's inconsistent with lore. YOU are. Therefore, the onus is on you to prove your point. I'm just saying that your stance is insupportable.
You really are failing to grasp some of the fundamental principles of worldbuilding, speculative fiction, and internally consistent wrting. Your insistence that ruling anything out is what takes "proof" is exactly the error that I pointed out at the start.
As established in DA:O and all its DLC, we're looking at a world in Dragon Age that is 95%+ physically consistent with the world we're familar with. Other than a few fantastic creatures and some magic, it's just like the world we live in -- the people are human, and work like we humans work. They are born, grow, eat, breed, and die. There's nothing to indicate that they're all some strange human-looking creature that is internally presurized to 210 PSI. Combat does not consist of leaping around like people who were too acrobatic and agile for Cirque de Solei...
Then we get DA2...

Many things of DA2 annoys me, exploding bodies is one of them. Seriously, what's so wrong with the death animations in DA:O that they had to change it? And using Varric as an excuse for everything is just lame, when this is obviously a design choice.

Well that sucks:? I'd be fine with them even just directly re-using those. and the Fable series have deathblows and no gibbing afaik;)Steffen wrote...
To me it just seems to be a gimmick/weak
replacement for death blows, i wouldn't be surprised to see it in a
Peter Molyneux game, but i personnelly believe that it doesn't belong in
a DA game if you want it to be taken seriously.

Whatever the reason, there's a mod that stops enemies from exploding on death (except due to some magic attacks) available for those who don't like that happening.
