I've been playing a BM and picked up the grave robber upgrade, One Foot In. It's supposed to give 10% healing from living enemies, plus deal spirit damage, and reduce enemy armor/resistance to 0% for a moment. However, I've been noticing in fights when I use it that it doesn't seem to be working. I don't see the spirit damage numbers, nor do I see any healing when there aren't any dead, and my target is human or other blood types.

Also, I noticed the tooltip for Grave Robber still says "10% health regeneration per nearby corpse", and nothing about the effects from One Foot In. It's like the upgrade didn't happen.

Is it broken?

I've even tried respeccing, using Maker's Sigh from BE, but I still don't see any change. Is it working for anyone else?

Dunno all I know is that it seems to have very little affect at all. Its simply not worth getting, nor is grave robber.

It worked for me, but the affect is so small because 5% of your health is the same as 0.5% of a hostiles health.

Stupid game design.

Its still a useful skill though to refuel your blood mage to full health again, especially as corpses disappear so rapidly.

the upgrade allows 10% from the living as well.

That's what it says, but I have yet to see it after getting the upgrade. I'm still seeing just the healing from corpses, and the grave robber tooltip doesn't show the upgrade stats.

Oh well, I guess I'll assign the talent point somewhere else that's more benefit.

Yes, One Foot In is broken. The upgrade does nothing. If you take it the description of Grave Robber doesn't change and it does not work in game.

I tried altering the abi_base to be sure it didn't work. Simply put, the upgrade is not recognized as such, so it does nothing.

Right, I'm talking about PC, naturally (since I said I looked at the abi_base I thought it was obvious).

Here it is broken.

Seems like the PS3 has a lot of advantage on the PC this time around for what it concerns bugs :-)
It can be that it works also for Xbox but on PC it is clearly not working.

Do the description of the spell change? That's a sure way to test if it works for you or not. Just look a the spell, if the description is not changed with the updated values of One Foot In then it doesn't work. Note: NOT Grave Robber (that one works), it is the upgrade One Foot In that does nothing.

It's impossible that for someone it works and for someone it doesn't in the same platform. Or it is a problem with some mods I have (also if I'm sure I tested it without mods the first time) or it is a bug on the PC.

I don't have access to the computer i play on at the moment. I don't have any Patches or Mods if that counts for anything. I did see Dmg Numbers going off when i used it something like 20 Spirt on a few enemies around me.

The description does not update, but I'm playing on PC and the skill works in combat for me.

Try it, charge into a group of cridders and soak up their health. Problem is they tend to change aggro to you.

The non-upgraded version works as well, but it took me a couple tries to figure out how to get the most out of it. (playing on PC, nightmare mode)

The area of effect is 6m. You have to be standing in a pile of dead bodies and then it provides a big boost to your health, which is helpful because health potions don't work when blood magic is active.

It's 10% health boost per corpse that is within the 6m radius, so if you are standing in a pile of 10 corpses you get 100% health.

If anyone is still interested, this is simply a bug with the tooltip. The spell works fine with the upgrade, its only that the tooltip does not update. This can be fixed by adding [309031] to the [$D300F4D] column for grave robber, aka death magic in the abi_base, for grave robber to "recognise" one foot in as its upgrade.

Yep I've been testing it as well and found the same thing, plus you have to do it before the bodies vanish even in the middle of fights. It basically means it can't be included in tactics because you have to be careful with your timing and where you are placed.

stupid question incoming. What about perma corpses or semi permanent corpses, does the skill/talent still apply?

You mean loot corpses, like before you even got into the zone they were there. No.
