I don`t think so...
Just because production has previously stopped, it doesn`t mean it can`t start up again.

And the Jade Empire and Mirabelle references in the Mike Laidlaw interviews and the Death`s Hand Armor in Dragon Age: Legends lead me to believe they intend to keep this franchise alive.

I for one hadn`t thought about this game for years. But, because of these references, now I hyped up about it again.

Projects that are strictly internal and are cancelled/put on hiatus as 'not worth the investment right now' can always come back. I imagine they wanted to focus on fewer games/franchises, but Mass effect & dragon age aren't going to last forever.

I doubt they'll bring this back any time soon, I nearly cried reading it! Though I have doubts, I still hope and pray that I will one day have my hands wrapped around a Jade Empire 2 Imperial Edition!

I dunno. Neither this bit of news, nor the other bit in this forum that allegedly confirms JE2, strike me as particularly meaningful. Maybe neither of them contains any truth. Maybe both do.

Looks to me like Bioware sees JE2 as some kind of insurance. Should the day come, when they've milked their franchises enough and they're not in the mood to start a new one, they'll make JE2.

yes if you have the latest update from xbox live it supports JE as well as KotOR you can also download JE from xbox live.

I hope that doesn't come true to be honest - that's no reason for a company to revisit an old franchise. The quality would suffer hugely if that did become the case.
Unless they are really passionate and motivated about making the sequel (and vehement about staying true to its roots ; "I'm looking at you Dragon Age 2, coming across as embarrassed over your origins" <_<), I'd hope they'd leave JE well alone.

I´m pretty certain we will see more of JE someday. Not in the next 3 years, but one day. After a while both ME and DA will become tired, over-saturated. That´s when Bioware will turn it´s attention to Star Wars and JE.

I've seen the return of Jade Empire so many times in my dreams that by now I consider it inevitable. Wise, they were, to space out these games as long as they have for I am one of those few who can recall when the first installment was nothing more than a trailer. It won't be me who enjoys JE2, though. Far from it, I will be in my twilight years and lying on my deathbed with loved ones surrounding me. But as I've seen in my dreams, just before I pass, the news of JE will be brought to me by a young child. Perhaps a grandchild? It's hard to know for sure based on only the dream. What I do know is that this "child" is the only one present who takes my warnings of this game's inevitable return seriously. It will be they, not I, tasked with returning to that beautiful land where I said goodbye to many great companions oh so long ago. My last role is simply to inform that child of what lies ahead of them and (perhaps more importantly) warn them of the tempting lure of the Closed Fist philosophy. It is easy to succomb to its hold, as it fills you with immediate power, but in its wake you are left with drones instead of friends... blindly following you for no reason other than they have no choice. And although you might be feared by all, there will always be someone - somewhere - waiting to strike you down. Without someone to challenge your ideas, you will begin to believe even the ones that are certainly untrue. Truth and fiction will be blurred and good judgment will be a casualty of war.

Alas, I've said too much. Just know that JE2 is coming. One day... some day... but sadly, I shall not be there to see it... to redeem myself for all those terrible atrocities I committed so very long ago. Perhaps, in some way, that is justice.

I will drop all the cash I have in my pocket right now for some positive news about JE2. That's a whole EIGHTY-SIX cents, and I don't see how Bioware can pass up such an incredible offer.
