I only had one small issue with the game, an otherwise positive review.

The one thing I didn't like? The fact that I occasionally have to kill Mabari, like with the Dog Lords gang. :( I love the Mabari breed, and when I hear them yelping when I have to kill them, it's really upsetting. It was also rather upsetting in Origins. So, maybe we could skip having enemy Mabari in DA3?

Other than that though, I loved the game. <3 I loved the companions and the romance options, even if Varric wasn't an actual LI. I liked the voice acting, though I think Fem!Hawke was a little more emotive than Male!Hawke. The framed narrative was pretty interesting, and I enjoyed how we got to see the effects of some of our decisions in actual gameplay, rather than through epilogue slides. I ADORE the friendship/rivalry scale. It made playing the way I wanted to much easier, since I wasn't having to meta-game my companions approval to keep them from leaving. The tone indicators in the wheel were awesome, since I didn't have to try and guess what the game considered 'witty' or 'aggressive', only to find from the companions reactions that I totally guessed wrong. And the moral choice between Mage and Templar, when they both have their good and bad points, was a lot more engaging for me.

Well, I could be here all night pointing out what I really liked, so I'll just stop there. I just wanted to let all the Bioware people know that I really enjoyed the game.

Look at it this way, DA2 is kind of like the marijuana of RPGs, it attracts newbies to the genre but it doesn't satisfy the old timers.  Some of those newbies will be happy with it, but others will move on to the harder stuff BG2 (heroin), PS:T (LSD), Fallout 1 and 2 (cocaine, crack).  They'll increase the number of gamers who want a real RPG experience and maybe one of the AAAs will decide to make a traditional RPG again, or one of the indy studios that still make them will get the funds to make one at the AAA level.

That said, something has to happen to the video game industry soon, its so homogenized and substandard that it's either going to implode or experience a new renaissance.  It has all the pretty graphics and sound but the gameplay and story just aren't there.  I'm hoping for renaissance, but experience and history lead me towards implosion.
