Why?  Does the 1.01b patch even fix anything that matters to console users?  Let's look at the notes...

These do matter:
made Easy difficulty easier
slightly increased attack, defense, and damage scores for all party members at Normal difficulty

Everything else doesn't matter for consoles.  So you're really not missing much of anything anyway.  The DEX hotfix and the like aren't actually in the patches yet.  Since Microsoft limits how often BioWare can patch and how many times they can patch, you should be glad that they're waiting for a biggger patch.

A patch sounds more "new and cool" to me than a site update, but a DLC woudl be best.  I disagree with you that "Visting the site" cuts against DLC.  Bioware and EA would still rather have people getting the news off the Social Site, which they have been promoting, then off of a news site, no matter what it is.

Alternatives would be actual DLC or other feature/content that wasn't ready when the game went gold.

I hope some expansion pack or dlc. What does dlc stand for anyway sorry noob question.

I won't be playing this game until Chrstmas cuz it's a christmas present. Is this game truly that good?

I hope it's a patch to fix the various problems I've seen reported (like bow and dagger related things). Or maybe the cheat code to add items to your character, along with the ID of the Ancient Elven Boots. I really want that full set, dangit.
