I'm turning this into a character/fan appreciation thread. Because Athenril doesn't have one and this thread hasn't died yet.

So i'm sitting here playing through Dragon Age 2 again, and I roll into Kirkwall with Bethany, Mum, and Aveline. However there is a problem, I can't get into city. Things are tight and I don't have many options, until my Uncle Gamlen rolls in with an opportunity. He says that I could get my family into Kirkwall if I work of the debt. Now being the practical man I am, I realize I don't have many options at this point. So i'm roaming around this courtyard looking for my uncles 'contacts' when I am greeted by the most stunning woman i've ever seen.



Athenril. I agree to take care of some slack jawed cheat for her, and voilà, i'm hired. But then, then what? Nothing, no closure, no chances, no fire hot lovin', no nothin'. It felt like I was taken for all I had and left out naked in the cold. So let me ask you a question, why is it that I was teased with the idea of Athenril? Cruelty? Or was my beloved Bioware just trollin'?

I'm going to need an Athenril romance option here pretty quick man. Pretty quick.

So I know how much random forum posts are taken seriously in regards to making serious business decisions, so when can I expect this content to be released? A week, two? Take your time... but i'm going to need it in a week.

So how about some Athenril lovin' in the form of DLC?

Athenril is incredible. I too require a bisexual Athenril Romp option in some year 1 DLC.

Yes, she's probably one of the most attractive elves in the game.

More elves should be done like her.

I'm happy for it to be platonic, but, yeah, she was awesome. I love her casual way of explaining what her group is involved in. A much better choice of employer than Meerin, who seems to spend all his free time at the Blooming Rose.

Yeah she is a much better employer, and you don't have to kill anyone to get into kirkwall with her.

And she is one of the few attractive elves.

For a little bonus XP in the prologue:
1) Accept both quests.
2) Go talk to the guy Mearan wants you to kill and take a bribe. You'll have to fight off his guards.
3) Go talk to Meeran and he'll be ticked with you. Later in the game he'll attack you and you get more loot and XP.
4) Go talk to the corrupt shopkeeper. Don't let Aveline threaten him (you'll get those 10 Friendship points later, don't worry).
5) Chose any option on the right side of the dialog to start another fight.
6) Everyone should have gained another level by now and you're up several gold! So literally step 6 is "Profit!"

Athenril is pretty cute for an elf. I like to think she and Hawke had a little fun on the side and part of the reason she's ticked at him for leaving. There's definitely a story there with a little heartbreak over the mysterious smuggler year.

I really enjoyed her and was kinda sad to kill her.

I do sorta wish we could learn more about our employers more! They both seem pretty interesting, and the "falling out" that's hinted is so...vague.

Her voice always bothered me a little though. I don't know quite how to put it, the way she speaks just seems...off. Like it needs more emotion or something. Still an interesting character even minus the awkward voice over, though.

I just can't get over the fact that her head is too big for her body... and that she has a slight case of ostrich neck.

Meeran's quest has a 5 gold payout too so I usually sign up with the Red Iron...

Going by pure Eye-candy... Athenril wins in every way...LOL. I will always choose her at the beginning of my games...though I did sign up with Meeran once for the trophy...glad that's out of the way...LOL.

Athenril is indeed a paragon of sexiness, but I don't think I'd be very comfortable climbing into bed with her. She seems a little unscrupulous; I would not want her to know where I live or work.

I made more gold by bribing the shop keeper and killing the other guy.
