I know I am bored though when I consider getting DA:O in a different language to help me learn the language

Hey, I do that all the time, not just when I'm bored! Which is why I love steam and deeply regret pre-ordering the SE through the EA store and being stuck with a single language...:(. Heck, Wild Arms (my very first RPG! :wizard:) and Final Fantasy 7 probably taught me 70% of my english.

Haha I know what you mean, I learned my english through Secret of Mana and Link to the Past. But when I got FF7...damn I loved that game so much I actually studied the language to understand everything (particularly how to breed that damn Gold Chocobo). The next year I was put in advanced english classes, solely because of that game haha.

While I was waiting for the patch I replayed Origins, Awakening, and the few DLCs that I bothered with, to get the file I wanted for importing (lost all my old saves on a failed HDD) - also for the fun of replaying of course! Now I'm patched I'm replaying DA2 using Isabella and Sebastian in the party, now their friendship bonuses work properly. I will also have another playthrough because I still haven't taken Varric or Aveline along on many quests in any game yet.

I'm not sure I will be waiting for DLC as such - after I've exhausted all my options on DA2 I'll be replaying The Witcher in readiness for TW2 (my Witcher save files were also on the aforementioned HDD, and I want to dip my toe back into that universe anyway in preparation for the next installment) then I'll be playing TW2 for a while. Then there's Skyrim coming up in November, and I want to replay at least the main quests of Morrowind and Oblivion (possibly Daggerfall again too) to get me in the mood for that when it's released.

I guess if I have any time free and a few hours I want to fill I might see if there's any DA2 DLC been released, but it's not going to be a priority for me. This is the downside of DLC when compared to full blown expansion packs - I'd fire a game back up and give it another run through if I could buy a decent expansion pack, but DLCs don't have the same impact and I can take them or leave them - I'm not one to come back to a game a couple of months later just because of a 2-3 hour quest, an extra companion, or some different weapons. Offer me a 15-20 hour expansion for £10, and we might have something to talk about!

It's very different from other rpgs. Its an first/third person shooter based RPG but it still has a lot of RPG elements. A great number of choices (New Vegas), dialogues, itemization is great, nice quests, tactics etc. Way more than DA2 . Cant even compare truly. If you liked Oblivion then you'll enjoy playing F3 and NV.  I personally love the game and spent over 487 hours playing it according to steam.

Wow, 500 hours? That's quite a bit of time. Mine is "only" 113 hours. But yes, there's a lot of content and replayability in the game. I'm only now doing a full wipe of my mostly graphical and new content based mods and starting again with more extensive overhauls with difficulty, balancing, stats, etc. NVamp was a bit daunting to install to be honest, but I have high hopes for a more challenging experience with XFO.

Aside from Oblivion, what kinds of games do you enjoy?

Yeah, I forgot to mention one thing that should make it sound more understandable - www.newvegasnexus.com

My Dragon Age Origins time is also high at 512 hours and, again, thanks to all the mods and it being a good game with its own strong replayability value.

I haven't had much time due to work to play anything else really since DA2 but when I get chance I plan on finishing New Vegas as well as Resonance of Fate. I am actually expecting the DLC for DA2 to be huge and story related. Whether it's any good I don't know but I am interested to see what they do. This doesn't mean I will buy it because even if it's epic it's still going to be DA2 story/enviroment and I did not enjoy DA2. But I am going to keep my eye on it see what happens. Maybe they can swing me to buy it but as of right now it really would take borderline a masterpiece of DLC.

Well the 500 hours on New Vegas was a fellow forumite.

I love the Mass Effect series. I like the Assassin's Creed series. Growing up I love Zelda. I had a blast with Red Dead Redemption. Half-Life 2 and Portal on the PC...and The Witcher. I played Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, love them. I like Grand Theft Auto, believe it or not. Lol. Mostly rpg but some other genres as well.

Lol, you'll probably find New Vegas really buggy, not that good with graphics and a bit awkward when it comes to gameplay, but you'll probably love it overall.

Open world games, RPGs, that's basically New Vegas in a nutshell. A massive open world RPG.

Do you play on PC or consoles?

As Romantiq demonstrates, the mods available on PC add a freaking boatload of play time due to the powerful toolset.

Flipping back and forth between The Witcher, DA2 and DA:O/DA:A

Was actually very interesting to go back...

May rent Brotherhood and see if it is worthy of a purchase.  Hubby was hogging the PS3 to finish a game he had going, and then DA2....so, behind on that one by a long shot :P

I know I am bored though when I consider getting DA:O in a different language to help me learn the language :D I am awaiting TW2 though more than DLC to be honest. I tried to NOT go back to DA:O but I am both annoyed and glad I did. I am appreciating it more this time. There are so many options I enjoyed, but really took for granted from a game. Jowan is still fairly annoying though :)

You should give Brotherhood a try.  For a "spin off" that was developed in 1 year is very impressive and one have to wonder what the hell happened to DA2.

Agreed. Brotherhood does a good job as a sequel. To make it short; Brotherhood keeps the features we liked in previous AC games, while improving on those aspects that were criticized in previous AC games without having to revamp everything, and of course adding new (cool) features as well. The look, the details and size of Rome are nothing short of astounding.

As for me. I'm gonna go with KOTOR2, BG2, ME1, AC:B & Starcraft 2.
Was kinda planning on waiting for an expansion instead of dlc, but then I actually tried DA2 and now I'm counting on Witcher 2 to heal the pain.:innocent:

You will probably love New Vegas, also Fallout 3 if can try it too. Bethesda by far make the most immersive and best open world games out of all developers right now imho far better than even Bioware themselves. (Though Rockstar are amazing with open worlds too RDR and currently expecting same quality with LA Noire).

Bioware have said so too.

“For me, Bethesda is probably the best in the world in terms of creating a sense of place,” he says. “The world seems so real it actually feels like you’re there. I think if you were to describe their superpower, that would be it. Fallout 3 was utterly believable as the area around Washington DC.

Bioware make epic stories but Bethesda make epic enviroments that are immersive.

Even (though probably shouldn't repeat this with all the hate atm on here even though I think it's a good think because can learn from Bethesda in some regards) *Can't remember if was Bioware dev Luke or John* said they are currently playing New Vegas too and loving it.

Not waiting for a DLC.

Replaying DAO and DAA

Playing BG and BG2

ME2 (though I suck at FPS, and aiming in a game. Funny I don't have that problem in real life).

I'm not waiting on DLC. DA2 was a massive disappointment for me. I don't want my hopes crushed again, and I'm not sure I can enjoy DA2 DLC due to not liking DA2 itself that much. When/if DLC comes out, I will wait until I can get a feel for what people think, before I decide.

I've never done that for anything BioWare before. I almost feel heretical for saying it.

But, as to what I'm playing... after I quit DA2, I instantly loaded DA:O. Played through the first couple of treaties, but got a sudden crazy lightsaber itch, so I played KotOR II (with the Restored Content Mod). Will likely finish my DA:O game now that I'm done with KotOR II, and then might pick back up the Morrowind game I interrupted to play DA2. Or I might not... since The Witcher 2 will be out then, and I've got that on pre-order. Thank goodness it's not long now, I'm dying for a good RPG, and I've got good hopes for TW2. Of course, the biggest thing on the horizon for me this year is Skyrim... November can't get here fast enough.

Playing DAII (The Mods......oooooooooh the Mods!) yet again. (Sixth run, romancing Merrill for the first time)

Other than that....

Shelving DAO to collect dust for a while and living real life away from my computer.

Currently I'm replaying my cannon char in DA:O and just restarted ME1

Doing my "Kill everything" playthough in Fallout 3, plus Forza 3 Ultimate Edition for a completely different change of pace.

Oh, and still waiting for the DA2 GOTY edition anyway, of course!

To answer the topic, I got so much games from Steam sales that it's starting to feel like a chore... I'm at the final mission of Fallout, Haven't started Fallout 2 yet, thought Fallout Tactics was boring, 15 hours in Just Cause 2, 3 hours in Max Payne, Haven't started Max Payne 2 yet and 5 hours in Bully. I still have my 7th (or 6th, don't remember) Origins playthrough going on and I just recently started Baldur's Gate 2. On console I have a little bit of Timeshift left and L.A Noire is coming up.

I'll never finish all these games, I'm seriously drowning. I'm perfectionist enough that I have to at least complete all my games unless they are seriously boring.

Edit: To make it clear, no DLC for me, thanks.
